Before I do something others would consider stupid w a 180m reward choice...
They are to cut plants that are removed from a bed. To make baskets or plant dyes.
Well that kinda sucks, they're made to gather resources from plants, but not a garden bed... that's a hot ****up from whoever thought that was a good reward as is.

But if they do indeed work on garden beds, I will buy a pair of these 6 year vet reward gardening shares from somebody if they had a pair for sale... or just eat my last 15 year reward choice and I'm weaker too if I get bored enough.

Big ****ing letdown, kind of... they're nice, but u still gotta click each plant once. Not just a bed of 9 once, but they work and I'm out of reward slots til next yr.

My point was that, whatever GM or idiot coded this thought hey man let's not make garden shears work on a garden bed. My point was, whatever idiot thought that was a good idea, had a huge misstep with coding a pretty bad ass reward for Feb 2024.

I mean hell, they could even sub a cost of 5 resources or rather 5 of each resource for a total of 10 from a bed of 144 resources... for using shears on a bed if 9 over 1 x 1 like it is, and still could be now, giving a choice.

I honestly haven't skinned my clients since the early days of the game where **** used to be allowed that probably still is but is no longer around... replacing image files etc.
That said, what the hell are you using...

But it's still pretty ****ing idiotic to not be allowed to use gardening shears on a garden bed. I mean they'll argue context, but then that's really showing the re-tarded side of it.

so interestingly enough, i picked up a pair of these last year and tried them out and then chucked them into a chest never to use again.
you can make a better macro on uoassist that does more and is pretty much instant.
guild mate showed me years ago.
you record yourself at your plant bed, open a plant, collect the seeds and the resources then hit garbage plant and then hit confirm and then stop the recording.
then all you do is set it to a hotkey.
hit your hotkey, then dd click the plant in the bed you want to collect and gargbage'd.
BOOM, plant is collected and garbage'd.
works so good.
i can strip mine all my beds in just a couple minutes and reload with another hotkey.
(all on classic client i should have said)

I'm not going through all those clicks for that ********. Have you actually done the math on that just to set the macro up LOL across multiple beds LMAO
That's a 144 clicks per bed, not including demolishing the plants, plus a lot more than that if you consider going through the menu systems etc.
As it stands the shears work fine with maybe just a macro to empty the plants from the bed.

9 clicks per bed.
that is gathering everything and killing the plant.
and you don't need to set up a macro for each bed, the original macro works for any plant.
you just play the macro and dd click any plant and off it goes.
because the original plant that you used is no longer there when you play the macro it just hangs up and waits, then when you dd click the plant it takes off and does the macro.
and it does it fast, like 2 seconds.
I know I'm a little late to this, but the enchanted shears work ok on a garden bed (they gather the resources fine) with the only "missing" feature is the ability to also remove the plant from the bed. That creates additional clicks that is not needed. They should have made it like mining for granite where you single click the shears and have a option to "prune plant". That would have made them great. When I do grow plants and use the shears, I just use the "Last Object" macro for the shears and click all 9 plants in the bed... it takes less than 15 seconds.
Thanks @Poo for the suggestion on using UOA for the harvesting. I don't do plants very much these days but will be a nice option if I decide to ever use all 6 beds I have all at once again.

that was the exact thing i said when i picked up the sheers as well.
why wouldn't they have added a switch to toggle to kill the plant off one done.
would have made the item so much better.
