Thinking, bad I know.

A new vendor that trades for goods that can be put in deed form. The buy (barter) window would come up and deed is taken in trade. Or the deed is droped on the vendor for the asked amount and type for trade. This vendor method would by a type that deals with one item at a time. Would open a method for getting items from other players who really need stack of Dull Copper Ingots more then gold coins.

Be a way for new players not have to farm / buy gold. A sweet LRC suit could be had for 5k spine leather lets say. Now a new or returning player can go harvested desired amount and get what other players offer on Barter Vendors. And use any gold they gathered farming for other things.

To stand out theese vendors would use the orc form.

Also a mil gold check could be placed on the Barter Vendor for 20k Horned Leather or 20k Dull Copper or 5 Eye of Travesty. Make it so an item offered could be had with more then on choice.

Does not compute in the end. This what gold is for, a bartering system argues that the value of gold is no longer related to the value of items (in times of war this may happen to a currency for instance). Think: why would a new player give you 5 k leather for an item that is worth X when X is worth less than 5k leather in a given economy? The inverse may be interesting for people without vendors: gold offers for certain items, but only reasonable if the gold offer is competitive.

Actually what the game is lacking is an auction house.

I know there are some strong feelings about this, which I do understand. However I think it could work quite nicely if instead of a WoW/LotRO style auction house we had a true commodities market.

For starters, the commoditized resources already exist. This would allow people to be able to a) create a true supply/demand market and b) allow those without access, either willingly or by circumstance, to prime vendor locations to market their goods.

Encourage people to use the Commodities Market by charging a flat rate percentage per week and a simple transaction fee so they dont have to deal with the added expense of vendor fees. A time based fee would need to be carried to prevent the hoarders from just getting free storage by posting everything they had at rediculous prices.

This would add an interesting aspect to the game. Could post buy/sell orders and the like. Anyone who has played puzzle pirates would be familiar with a fairly basic market setup.

What I was also looking at is the different player time blocks. For half of the day any player on at that time I wont run across or deal with on chat.

And as far as chat goes, time has made a long ignore list. There are those I'd be willing to trade with that I don't care to hear their banter for hours every night. Some put on ignore are traders that get ignored becuase they need to spam the journal full. Or this new breed that feel they need to start mashing a hotkey while other players are speaking on chat.

There are the NPCs that take odd items for quest. Just seems it would not be a big issue for the Barter Vendor to tap into that system.

I like the auction house ideal. Not like houses don't have the ability to put your vendor stuff to sign when the vendor drops. Be like a current house vendor / bank box system. Players with small window time to get on UO like myself are still building our own characters suits and weapons. An auction house would support those that enjoy the gathering over bashing heads with other players or lastes boss grind for a rare drop. A player that is not on often enough to know what the going rate is of their goods would get a fair market value at an auction house. By monitoring the shard auction houses they may have realized their was something wrong with the relic trade and burned those scripting at the queens forge for days at all hours. Relics not stacking would of been a great fix.
