Which one??
The one who thinks all templates or even most people run with resist??
Same person who thinks that both the things he mentioned [poison/para] arent being broken with simple easily available consumables called pots and a trap box??
I detest to be forced to carry certain things. I do carry a trapped box, it goes off instantly when I am para'd no big deal there.
I detest carrying regs and pots, why most of my weapons have HSL and I use Confidence/Chiv ect to heal. Which leaves me only having to carry cures or petals.
Since I am usually running a Sampire and have thus adapted to pvp in such regards, I am usually out of vamp/wraith form when pvp hits. If spawn is around and heavy its near impossible to kill me one on one. Granted para mages are gimp to me as if you para me I will continue to charge you, it is annoying to have them run on and off screen using last target hotkey. So leads back to my long ago idea that if you run off screen, last target should be wiped since your last target is no longer in the area.
But on the the original topic. Bards as it sits have no place in pvp at all, a pure bard that is. And this is a damn shame.
Discord: Like someone suggested, 10% reduction. Remove curse wont work and will stay active while you are on the same screen. 11 seconds to be off screen. Invis will not work if you are still on screen.
Peacemaking: Work just like the dryads, unable to cast or fight for a period of time.
Provoke: Provoke a monster on a player or even a pet. Or provoke a player on another player thus AI taking over. But have this be time based and not based on one of the two combatants being alive.
Yes this is a good idea to make the bard template viable in pvp. And no I didnt even think about discoing a friends to train more. But I see mentality of most UO'ers is how they can exploit something to work as not intended. So have dico on a player work like stat does. You cant go into stat and train skills, have it the same, problem solved.
Anyway you look at it, bards are gimp in pvp and they need to be able to use their skills. It makes no sense why their skills effect a human npc and not a human pc from a logical standpoint. The other thing I can think of is the d00dz whining about a change they have to adapt to. But if you have a true bard, with all the skills...
120 music
120 discord
120 provoke
120 peace
That only leaves 200 leftover for any other skills, which most would require 2-3 skills to be complete.
Could go Magery+Med but no dmg from most spells
Could go Magery+eval but no med for recover mana
Could go necro+ss but need to be wraith form to get mana back, thus no mount
Weapon+tactics but no way to heal
A full out bard would be the suck without skills to compliment and keep them alive. Although one can argue that most bards would only use music and disco or peace or two of the three skills, that is fine by me. Imagine provoking that Gdragon onto the tamer. Peacing that dismount archer or mage, making them useless for 5-10 seconds. It would add a whole new way to pvp...and i nthe process give bards a way to actually compete, I hate that they cant do anything in battle.
