Bane Dragon's poisoning skill....

Hi guys, I have recently trained my Bane Dragon by giving it two skills "Repel" and "Frenzied Whirlwind" and while it does poison its targets from time to time, poisoning seems to be stuck at 59.4 and won't go up at all...I didn't make it learn the poisoning skill as I believe it is a passive skill for Bane Dragon and I wonder if I screwed up by not learning poisoning resulting in its poisoning skill not going up...appreciate if someone who also has a Bane could shed some light please. Thanks heaps!

Good Morning, Zepheus, When it comes to banes they don't have the direct poison skill that procs from melee but can get gains in it from their passive shield that nagates a % of damage or a debuff, damages what ever tossed said move, and ( if they are not immune to poison) poisons the enemy based on its distance from the bane..( this shield will only lvl the poison to its birth lvl).. If ya want to lvl its poison, moves like P. breath and V. bite also cause gains in this skill...( while its a slow gain those 2 moves can lvl poison to GM) but the true power of the bane is in their passive move that is fueled by the stew... by far one of the best aoe pets in the game.. and your combo of whirl should make for some pretty intense aoe and single target burst..I look forward to seeing how it preforms.. =^-^=

Hello, Donavon: I am new to Banes and was given one as a gift recently. I searched for advice on these forums and found several of your posts pertaining to Banes and have begun training mine in line with your advice. I gave her goo and AI as I have a samp with whirlwind and wanted to see what goo looked like:) She has poison to 62 and it never rises. I don't think I fully understand your answer to Zepheus so... is it actually not possible to raise this skill? I have finished adding skills so if it requires a skill she doesn't have then too bad, but I just wondered if I need to fight some particular mob to raise this skill. Thank you for any help with this and happy new year :)

Good morning Olivia, with the exp goo ai magery banes Its super rare for them to gain poison gains as they only have their passive to proc them... but luckly banes are hard coded so poison skill doesn't effect their passives damage .. oddly enough Ive found that eval increases it a small amount...On test I rez killed one down to .0 poison skill and the main attack still stayed the same power... Now the ones V.bite AI magery banes.. they will passively gain to GM poison fairly quickly... and while this doesn't increase the power of the passive what is does do is make it so their spell poison from magery increases in effectiveness and str... Both are very strong aoe and single target builds... I think you are goingot have a lot of fun with the bane.. if ya want I would gladly meet you on test... and you can take some of my already 120ed out pets for a spin.. hope this helps if ya have anymore questions feel free to ask.. =^-^=

Hello Donavon and thank you so much for the reply and the advice :) My bane is scrolled up and set up according to your advice on another thread and I am extremely happy with her. She did her first champ spawn the other day (only rats, but she did them with hardly any vetting and is still in training). Thank you once again for all the help and advice. I might even try to get another and give it V. bite just to see the difference. If I do get another, perhaps we could meet up before I do anything with it so you can give hands-on advice? Thanks again.

Good Morning, Oliva, Im glad you are enjoying the build.. its one of my favorite pets.. I love using mine at spawns and during the pit battle for the zipa or ant queen chain.. It would be my pleasure to meet up on test and talk shop anytime.. just let me know when.. until then enjoy the bane and remember tasty treats will work to increase happiness, stew will increase that and give it its 5k hidden mana bar..
