I want to tame one of these before they disappear, but with my limited time, it is taking a while to get blackrock stew together. Can I use tasty treats to tame them and start the bonding process, or do I need to have blackrock stew?

get an ophidian slayer whirlwind weapon to get tons of blackrock, if you want the stew

Now that the bane chosen event has ended, I don't think Ophidians give blackrock anymore. I know I don't get loyalty points for killing them anyways.

You don't need food to tame and stable the bane, so grab one then stable it till you get the food sorted out. You can bond it whenever you want after that, just do the feed and wait 7 days at a later date.
