I don't know if any of you remember me, maybe Galen or Dermott and a few others from Lake Superior might. I used to play on Lake Superior as Sevan - a mage/bard. I had/have a house on what used to be Magencia beach - it is still standing even as the city remains in ruins and at times haunted. I have decided to finally make my return to UO and while I was excited to finally upgrade and try the new SA expansion.
I just upgraded my main account to SA and am downloading both the EC & 2D clients as I write this...I know that I have alot of catching up to do and while I see quite a few familiar names & faces on the boards - I am unsure what to expect when I return to Brittania <sp> for the first time since the final events of the Magencia Scenario. I hope that some of the vets still around can help bring me up to speed and answer a few questions for me.
* Magencia When can I expect my beloved Magencia to be rebuilt? What will happen to the (few) houses that still exiist on the island - do I presume that we will get to keep our houses when/if Magencia finally is rebuilt? Should I just pack up and move somewhere else? Is there new housing spots available in the new SA areas? Any large spots for large tower or castle anywhere? If I can place a large house it may be worth my while to move now.
* Shards - I was/am on Lake Superior. I have been on there since I first joined during the time of trammel's creation (UO:R). The main reason I stayed on LS for so long was always the strong RP community - specifically the ongoing saga of the High Council and the like. However, I am told that now LS (and other shards?) is now often a ghost town and I might want to start over and/or transfer to a new shard. Please tell me it is not true - is LS dead?
* SA - I am going to start a new character (deleting one of my started but never finished chars) as a gargolye to really experience SA from a new player standpoint. However, what templates are best suited for the "change" from human/elf to Gargoyle? My main char is a Bard/Mage and I also have an GM Merchant (Blacksmith etc) and an old Orchish Archer.
I am sure I will have more specific questions later - but any advice on where and how to (re)start at this point will be much appreciated. I really miss UO and can't wait to play!
