Back to Tamer

I am a returning player who back in the day played a Tamer/Bard, well more like a tamer with Music and peace. Any way coming back to the game I was planning on running a Pure bard but due to a payment issue, on my part I am starting over with a Tamer. There are a lot of changes since I played so I am looking for a build that might suit my play style. I was thinking about.

120 Taming
120 Lore
120 Vet
120 Magery
120 Music
and rotating between 120 Provoke,Disco,and Peace as needed.

Im not sure if this is still viable or not and would be open to other builds. I stopped playing right after Samurai Empire came out, so I have quite a bit to catch up on. I would be open to any build that can handle alot and is fun to play. Any input would be appreciated.

Get spellweaving in there. Lots of tamer use SW because it's very effective for the skill points used. It's saved me many times.

There are some very knowledgeable tamers on Chesapeake, much more knowledgeable than the noobs on LS. KIDDING! those Chesapeake tamers have alts on LS too!

Consider trying your bard skills with bard masteries first before you decide to put them away. Skills like taming and spellweaving really begin to shine when you could get a skill primer vol.3 for them. Bard skills automatically get to vol.3 level without a skill primer as soon as you finish a bard mastery quest from the Lord British conservatory of music in Britain. Vol.3 skill primers for taming and spellweaving are not commonly available and rather expensive!

Note also that since some pets can be given Disco as their "magic", it can give you a bit more flexibility with a bard/tamer.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help here. We have some truly awesome people here that are very willing to help guide anyone that asks questions.

the peacemaking masteries are pretty nice to have the 1 gives u stamina, mana, and hp regen as well as making u resistant to poison (kind of like orange pedals), and lowers curse, bleed, and mortal wound durations the 2nd mastery spell give increased defense chance, lower damage taken, and spell focus both of these affect u and anyone ur in a party with and all pets urs and ur parties. If ur doing stuff with ur guild those masteries can help a lot. just remember to break party before they die

I use peace mysteries for training. Discord the mage and a beetle only dies 2 or 3 times till 100%.

Spellweaving for the real killing. Drop the bard. Put it on an archer.

I have the most fun with my disco tamer on a fully scrolled blue bug. Rune Corruption and Disco stack and things drop so fast with single target PvM. It the only character I have that can drop a Life Stealer fast.
