Ouch! were they on the ship or did they leave all that booty on an undefended vessel?
If a boat is defenseless, Why do you have to expend all that ammo to get the booty?

my best guess would be that anything worth getting involves the use of explosives and firearms

Just expended your ammo for no return on a moored ship
Kinda easy to scuttle a ship when no one is there to shoot back.

i dont mind Jill, its just fun and if i was out to make profit off of everything then this game would be no fun at all. Not everything is about gold or items, sometimes its just the experience of fooling around and having a good time with friends do anything and everything
to get in the hold and get the cannons you have to scuttle the ship. And yeah, its about being pirates, not about coming out ahead in gold.

i was out getting leather so i can make a new suit. dismiss killed me yesterday and dry looted me.
funny how we give gear back but you guys don't.. hmmm

looks like its a little different story when the boat has people on it eh ? you decided to attack . if you had just left them alone they woulda sailed away. but when they came under attack i came to their aid with what resources i had available . we were just able to mobilize a force faster than you .
remember we are mostly pvm players . we have dragons as well as crafters in our alliance . you mess with one , you may have to mess with the other as well.

Now that i think of it. the BO did kill me and did not take anything.
I had fun with that. and if you read the post. The Ginsu family did not touch your gear.
I don't loot. it takes me a week before I can get back in to a fight, after looted.
so if I don't loot anyone they might get in the fight sooner.
because is that not why we are all here is to enjoy the hunt and the kill. not sitting around waiting when players are making another suit.
but this has been said before. so I guess I'll get back to the game and stop preaching.

The pirates are all jolly when hi-jacking empty boats but as soon as they engage a boat with people on it and meet defeat then it´s no longer fun.
Me thinks the pirates need to practise being pirates a little more...

I think its more rthe greater dragon thing. Those things are lame in pvp no matter how you slice it. I donl think anyone in ARR cares that much about being defeated/looted though. At least from the in guild conversations I have had. Personally I wish I would have been there hehe. Why does it take you a week just curious? I mean its pretty easy to knock out a basic suit and your in GIL so I would imagine you have access to plenty of resources to use. I mean I just go buy a suit off a vendor if needed.

If I just PVP all the time sure I could replace my suit in no time at all.
if i PVPed all day i would have to made a suit about every hour. every time i take my guy out you guys find me... hehe
I am still working skills. have just been in faction about 2 weeks now i think been killed 5 times and dry looted 4
so i guess i make a suit about 2-times a week...
I joined faction to give the other factions players someone to play with. but there not really looking to
play there just looking to kill and loot. and that is OK. everyone plays different, then I do.
So to answer your question there is so much to do in game I am out enjoying it, and not farming for gear.
There is no dishonor in losing the fight... There is only dishonor in not fighting because you are afraid to lose

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Dismas did no such thing. 1) I didn't kill you and 2) I don't dry loot, I take shoes. If you're talking about the whole thing where you guys called in Tru and looted someone whom you never killed, then yes, I was there but I killed/looted no one.

Yeah, I WILL take an item other than shoes IF shoes are not available. I will also sometimes take an item or two if it will keep you out of the fight (a piece of LRC armor, bandies, etc) but generally will even give that back once the skirmish is over. Not saying dry looting is wrong, I just don't do it. I have enough crap of my own without adding yours to the piles.
