You know, one day a pig will actually fly then all these people will have to eat their words.

That's why I don't base my decisions on probability rolls.

[/ QUOTE ]

Haha well when I saw that statement, I thought it would be funny if EA replaced and activated snowflake code to show pixilated pigs and sent a message of the day stating "Well, we expect our ATM's are going to be very popular today. Cheers, [MFS]"

This is why it is a good thing I don't code for EA-Land.

[/ QUOTE ]

lmao that would be a great idea.

when cash back is activated the ealand slogan should be changed to "we pay you good money"

[/ QUOTE ]

oOo... yes! I think that would be a great slogan. I could see the debates then.

I really think this weekend I'm going to learn CC so I can take advantage of the ATM's fully when they do arrive.

I hope that person Thrill is not one of the people who hate me... I think I'll need their help.

[/ QUOTE ]

Does this mean we'll see you in class this weekend?? You should come to Sunday's beginner class with Toby. Look at the CC class thread in the CC forum. See ya then!

*checks class rules*

Nope nothin about drunkeness. However FWI has been known to be dangerous. So you take your own risk there, the school assumes no responsibilty for injuries incurred in class due to drunkenness or floating, ok really we take no responsibility for anything.
But if your sober enough to operate your KB you might learn something.

As to the topic, if I had more RL money I might cash in, I will def cash out no question about that.

I have no intention of using the atm.

If it gets to the point where i cant make any money on the game i will quit.

The option of making my account a free account and using the ten bucks to buy money has crossed my mind but then i would lose sims and lots, not interested in that.

What would happen i wonder, would my size 8 lots suddenly become size one since free accounts cannot own anything larger? Ill not take the chance i guess. I keep hoping this game will straighten out before i hit the cancel button.

I will never use them.

I pay $9.99 a month for this game.
To buy fake money is pointless.

I use them. I have never had to wait over 5 minutes for my cash.

I did find that you have to leave the lot where you bought them at for it to show up on your avatar.

I never understood why people always say this every time this topic comes up. By paying your monthly sub fee, you are in fact "buying fake money". Your 9.99 a month buys fake everything for that matter.

Buying additional funds is just a (personal) game enhancement.

just adding to my post.

Even though i have no intention of using the ATM, i do not have a problem with them being in game, as long as they allow us to be able to still make a little money, leave the atm as an option for those who want more than can be easily made of perhaps those that do not want to spend hours making it. The cash IN feature doesnt bother me, it is the cash OUT that is causing the problem.

I understand why some people would see it that way, however, if I have the spare money here or there, I don't see anything wrong with buying money. Especially during the winter, when there isn't much outdoor activity to do around where I live.

I even thought about maybe once I get established with the houses I want and things I want, that I may just go earn money for the heck of it and do massive payouts just to give back to the community, help everyone out.

Why the heck not?
It's always great to help others so no one has to super-struggle. It makes the game more fun for all.

In fact, I was thinking of starting a group of fairly well-off citizens to get "starter gifts" together for new players
maybe $500-$1,000, a random pet or something like that. Encourage new players to stay or even free players to become paid!

Maybe its a silly idea, I dunno.

-Edit: "Well Off" is not to say it would be an elite group, just people that could help. And perhaps assign new players to those willing to help, like a Big Brother/Sister program?

I bought an ATM for my store lot about a week before this anti-bot credit limit mess was announced even though even then I didn't plan on actually using one, I just wanted to see what one was, what would happen if you started to click as if you were going to use it (the thing not only completely crashed my game but my entire computer,I had to reboot).

Since this anti-bot mess and seeing the sentiments of others I really regret that.

You can't even salvage it or hide under it. Useless. It sits in my inventory now.

I wouldn't use the ATM because I spend too much already on online games in general; TSO, xbox, and WoW. I have to budget somewhere to make hubby happy.
Plus, it's like putting dinner on a credit card... You get the bill later but have nothing to show for it.

I have mixed feelings about them. On one hand, it IS bringing more $ into the game that they are supposedly trying to limit... On the other hand, other people have been profiting off the game $ on ebay for years, might as well be EA.

100% supporting the ATM's. In fact I used the ATM to buy an ATM. I love being able to get the cash I need without leaving the game in a safe and secure way. It's a shame Maxis did not have this feature sooner, they would have made a lot more money from me over the past 5 years. Some folks do not have the hours it takes to get the skill, then earn the cash, or attend the 1500 shifts at work to make the money to buy what we need to play. Some of us do not want to get four accounts and pizza for 8 hours alone to buy a fountain. This game begins with building and buying objects, that requires a lot of cash. But in the end for me, it's about visiting and meeting friends, and just plain goofing off if we want to. It's about time we got the ATM feature. I love it, and will continue to use it until my paypal says no more - check into rehab at simaholic clinic (in game of course)

I use my accounts to make money, so I dont need to buy it.

I want cash out now!

I want to sell my simoleans!

I dont want to waste it on useless virtual junk. I want tangible cash damnit!

[/ QUOTE ]

I wish I could as skilled as you guys are with CC. That take alot talent and patience which as this point I dont have!

RAH-RAH to the CC makers!!!

Wooh!
If I can manage to make decent looking custom content, I'd be all over that noise.

I won't use them...this game Was popular when it first started and their was Not a cash in/out option, so why change that now? I love a challenge, and this game is one, as long as the keep the ATM's out of the game.

Yeah, just like Second Life you can be free account and just pay $9.99 a month even though you don't have to and get more Lindens than if you subscribe and get their stipend of $500 per week (that's if you don't plan on doing anything but just visit places and not owning land). Same as here now...you can be free here and spend the $10 and get the money quicker. You'd probably get more of it in a month's worth than you would by paying the subscription fee for each account and coming out with less by using the money objects and all the hard work with your sims on code/pizza.

Of course I'm not going to cancel my main account and lose the ability to be able to go to money and skill lots, but instead of keeping my 2nd and 3rd accounts as premium, I would downgrade and use the money I would spend on them at the ATM.

I don't think its a silly idea at all. These are the things that use to draw the crowds in BF when I ran my casino. People like the chance to earn extra and it keeps the whole house involved. I miss this kind of gameplay and would love to see it brought back into the game but it does take money.

Maybe I'm an unprincipled heathen. But I don't see what the big deal is.

Use it or don't. Its not like these atm's are killing your grandmother.

Maybe. But once on TV I saw an ATM take out the whole side of a building!! Of course it was tied to a truck with burglers driving it. Howdy there, I use it and ...eey dent no....bother me none the less if others do or not.

[/ QUOTE ]

Haha well rieley if you can CC us a truck, I wouldn't be anti heisting one... if you know what I mean.

I guess when / if the economy in the game begins to resemble a real economy, people will use the ATM:s more.

If the ATM money can be used as an investment to make more money and cash it out.

There's people buying islands and stuff for millions of RL dollars in Second Life - why would they do that if it wasn't an investment.

Also I guess it depends on your playing style. Some people want to earn their money and others don't have that much time to play so they invest a little more to get their dreams to come true a little faster, and play casually.
