Why is it that all the Ask the Devs questions are answered by Petra Fyde. You should just get rid of it and we will just ask all our questions in UHall. That are rename it to Ask Petra Fyde.

Questions are pulled from the "Ask a Dev" forum and answered in video chats, and other areas. Petra pulls the answers and links them in the forum for those that missed the video. Because the Developers pull questions from the forum (rather than spending ages digging through the muck on U-hall), the forum is still valuable.

The reason is that the questions were answered by Devs, but not in a post per se (in one of their video presentations), so Petra replied to them to put a link to the video.

You comment would be like going into a resort casino, getting lost, then insisting the hotel didn't have an info desk at all, because another customer had to show you where to find the info desk (that you did find, because of their help).

If you had taken the trouble to look at the answers I'd posted you would have found that every one is linked to something from EA, either an HoC video or publish notes. The devs answered the questions, all I did was match up question and answer.

I work in a resort casino and we do not have an infomation desk. As a matter of fact during my 24 years of working in a casino I have never seen or heard of a casino having one. Company employees answer those questions. I guess I expect the same of EA.

I know that if one of the people who work under me pointed to someone else who knew the way and said go ask that guy I just answered the same question for him, I would fired that person on the spot.

She didn't actually have to do that, and Mythic are under no obligation that I'm aware of to do it either, so you should honestly be thanking Petra for that.

It's fine to reference the answers, but having the question thread locked and being linked to a YouTube channel and told it was answered in "this month's" video isn't particularly that helpful when you're just looking for a quick answer to the question being asked. It'll be even more annoying to find answers in a few months from now if back-referencing the question.

Cirno, on the other hand, posts a summary of the answer along with its original source. This is a much more user-friendly approach and doesn't force you to watch through videos or even search for the appropriate video to watch.

So yeah, basically... please just do what Cirno has been doing.

Well, Tommy boy if you have problems with the game developers I guess I can see how that might be.

If you have a problem with Stratics ...well I don't get it but ...it's all good.

But if this is intended to be an attack on Petra Fyde. Well I got big problems with that.

Petra is one of ( probably the best ) information resources we have.

She is also a very active player in-game, epically when it comes to helping new players or helping to set up Player run events.

I think you will find that Petra has more friends on this site and in game than most shards have players.

I have played this game from server-up / day one.
I can't remember all the times Petra has helped me, both in-game and with post on this site.

Personally I find it a great help when I come across a video link. I realize that if someone is looking for an answer to a single question, they may find it cumbersome to search through the whole video, but, for me, I actually like this as after watching the video I come away with answers to questions I didn't even know I had! So I, for one, thank you Petra for taking the time to do this.

I also want to say that throughout my 7+ yrs. of being a member of UO/Stratics (despite my post count, I've been around for sometime.) Petra has provided us all with a constant wealth of information and I have seen countless posts thanking her for the help she selflessly has provided throughout the years.

By the way, this is through personal observation here on these boards; I do not personally know Petra either in-game or out.

Petra Fyde, we do appreciate your efforts.
However, a short summary of what the video says would help those of us who didn't really want to wade through nearly 40 minutes of the March dev video, for instance.
If I still subscribed, I would greatly appreciate the devs actually taking a minute to answer a question or two. However, since I quit after the decision not to make a classic shard was announced, and probably won't be back unless they change their minds, I don't really feel like trying to get them to do what other online game dev teams consider to be a necessary part of their jobs. If they don't think it's necessary to bother even talking to their remaining subscribers on what has become the default forum for the whole game, that's their call.

I'm sorry people don't have time to watch the videos, I'm afraid, at this time, I don't have the much bigger time commitment required to transcribe them.

You did not even respond to what he said, let me break it down for you.

You personally go to a casino, and get lost, unable to find the information desk(IE. The post where the question is answered by a dev.), so you ask an employee (IE. Petra in this case) where the information desk is (Again the answer that the Developers posted) and she showed you.

You are going to Fire an employee for showing the customer the way to the information desk? The previous poster did not say that the employee tells them to ask another customer, but rather a customer shows them where the employee who knows is at.

The players can locate the relevant part of the script by using their web browser's search bar. If they could merge the four pages into one, it would be great.

If the only problem is the boring and long video, then these texts can solve the problem. For example, for this question: http://vboards.stratics.com/ask-dev...layers-me-only-player-transfer-off-siege.html, search "Siege" on the pages, fourth page has both the question and the answer.
