Armor and stamina

Am I correct that the armor changes some time ago mean that a dexxer loses less stamina when taking damage when wearing metal or woodland armor rather than barbed leather, all other things being equal - thus a reason not to make sampire suits from barbed leather anymore? Thanks

Any advice on this? Is barbed leather bad for dexters because of more stamina loss when hit compared to metal or wood?

As far as I know the leather still works the same as it used to but the other types of armor have been changed to provide better stamina loss protection and inherent lmc. I'd probably make my suits out of the woodland or metal since not being able to med isn't an issue with a sampire, and the increased lmc and stam loss protection would be more beneficial. However, if you've already made a leather suit I don't see any reason to be in a huge hurry to change it.

Thanks, this is what I was thinking. I'm asking because I have enough turn-in points for some new Miinax items but would have to craft a whole new suit to fit them in.

Your question haven't simple answer. It depends...

Usually a sampire doesn't need additional LMC from studded armor and additional Stamina Loss Reduction from metal armor so additional DI/HCI from woodland armor is the best choice. If you can't afford post-imbue enhancing about 5 pieces per slot (my personal "record" is 19 attempts to get one piece with DI/CHI) then you choose between studded and metal. You probably prefer LMC if you use feint (Feint hits do less damage so you leach less mana. Monsters rarely do over 26 damage to you so you needn't SLR.) You probably prefer SLR if you decided to go without HSL (relying on 15 SR from VE). But in most cases there is no much difference. Well may be against ranged monsters with heavy spells or breath SLR is better.

Thanks for the input. As somebody who has done only imbuing and never reforging or enhancing - not to mention the new refinements - this seems incredibly daunting. Kudos to you for figuring it out and doing it.
