Like the blackrock turn in? There were people that were upset because they didnt give in to the temptation of giving their rock to the shady figures and now they think they deserve something for it.
UO is made up of choices...you can come or not. I have had faith in them lately so i will choose to come...A lot of people that play the west coast shards had a 3 hour advance warning of what was to come if they checked out any East Coast shard. Yet there were still complainers.

Oh, there will be complainers. I'm not trying to complain here, I'm trying to get them to make improvements. During the Atlantic event, I didn't see much of the conversation. I didn't even see that Draconi had arrived or that he said anything, if he did at that. I heard other people say he was there, but I personally didn't see him and I was there the whole time. During the Pacific event, I actually saw what he had to say. His speech was great, but it would have been better posted in the event notice. Yes people will still complain, but there is nothing wrong with trying to improve communication and these events.

If you didn't even know that Draconi was there then you must have either been asleep or nowhere near the machine. Draconi showed up in the middle of a pretty big explosion of flames and smoke.

Saw the explosions, didn't see Draconi and especially didn't see his speech. So you are mistaken on both accounts. Was it spam that I lost his words in? Was it pets? I have no clue, but I didn't see him. This is precisely why his speech should also be copied to the event notices, but some people will miss out due to the spamming and what not. In fact, while we're on this topic let me urge for a few more event tools to be developed which will help the events. After all, this is why I'm posted here so frequently to this thread.
1. I like that clearing thing they did but I'd like to see it keep players back at a given distance so other players can see what is going on. Perhaps it can include a silence zone as well so nobody can spam over the dialogue. I mean, if you have a short event and half the dialogue is lost due to people spamming, that's not a very good event, is it?
2. I'd like a clearing zone for these dialogue events as well which clear pets to a certain region and keep them there. People on different shards were complaining about battling pets and what not.
3. I'd like a spell squelch zone, so those people griefing with spell casting get squelched where they cannot cast spells for a certain period of time. That aught to prevent spell griefing.

So, you saw that he cleared everyone from a fairly large radius around the machine but you didn't actually see him standing there by himself on top of the machine?

Nope because people charged forward immediately after being cleared. It was like watching this big laggy soup surging forward.
