LS couldn't even see the event because of some inbred ****** tamers fighting their dragons on top of whatever DID happen.

I realise it was a roll out for the event. but that shouldn't have even been posted.

Very lame and a huge let down for dozens of people

I'm assuming everyone that showed up may have been marked as having been there? Maybe? They must have had SOME reason to do it like this.

There is a reason we were here with our blackrock for tonights 2 min event, come back tomorrow with your blackrock and you'll find out what.

Did you miss the part where Drac told us several times that nothing would happen today?

Now, had there been no-pet and no-magic zones set up and everyone been frozen and silenced like back with Ricardo, you might have seen some of the nice effects that were going on that were covered up by the wave of fools.

No worries maple. All he said was:

"Did you check the thing?"
assistant: "yeah dude"
"Sweet flip that switch"
assistant: "Got it chief"
"Well come back tomorrow everyone, we'll have a funnel cake stand up and balloons for the kids."

Give or take a line.

Crysta, though it was said most of the 'oomph' was coming tomorrow, this just WASN'T an event, it was an insult.

If they needed a stress test of something again, they should have just asked. The Dev team stated they want to show that they are making a real commitment to giving us content... this is NOT the way to do it.

You know, I wouldn't have minded the lack of anything BIG happening tonight, it just would have been nice to actually SEE it through the dragons.

I don't know how other shards were, but LS apparently has a few tamers that need to be Darwinized due to their lack of contribution to the global UO gene-pool.

I stand corrected, though I wish it had been clearer, as in "There isn't going to be much action today." I guess I will withhold judgement then but I still think it's dangerous starting events of so underwhelmingly. There were alot of complaints about Magincia too, after so much buildup.

Crysta, you do realize there were people talking about taking a day off to attend today's event? How stupid will they feel when it finishes up in five minutes? How stupid do I feel encouraging all my guildmates to gather, many of them giving up Friday night plans to take part in an EA event, only to have it over in 5 minutes? It's just plain not a good idea.

[/ QUOTE ]Don't BOTHER trying to justify this LAME excuse for a "two-part" event by that sentence there. It in no way indicates that showing up for the event will be completely pointless.

This wasn't even worth advertising. And does NOT qualify as an event.

EA -- seriously, get it together. Or get out of business.

It could have lasted more than 5 minutes... I mean how many times have you tried to build or fix something (like a computer) then when you turn it on and it doesn't work, just go "oh well, it will work tomorrow" and walk away.

The presentation was weak tonight, even knowing that nothing big was going to happen.

An extra 5 or 10 minute to weed out the problem players, a bit more dialogue... Inu could have gotten a bit more involved and so on.

it's not the fact that there's nothing tonight, it's not the fact that all we do is listen to the "EM" talk, etc, it's the fact that it lasted like 30seconds if that much, times were posted in GMT, which I have no clue what that is nor do many I talked to, it's the fact that some people posponed IRL events for this gathering, if it would of lasted 10-15mins of talking or doing anything without starting fighting or anything, it would of been decent, but 30seconds is insulting ....

[/ QUOTE ]Just because you have pompoms for EA doesn't mean that sentence is indicative that there will be nothing going on tonight. That sentence means don't worry about tonight, there'll be more stuff going on tomorrow night.

If they had truly wanted to say it wasn't going to be an event, they could have said, "Hey, tonight is just a couple of minutes of plot setup. Real stuff is tomorrow." Having people come to an event that people actually, you know, made time to come to, and have THIS be what was given... it's sad, it's pathetic, and it's ludicrous that you're defending it.

These guys have been sitting on this story line for months.....What they said in advance or not is a lame excuse. Gonna be harsh here, but EA's been gimping out on UO alot, and now with Mythic as their merge partner, things seem to be the same.

Bad part is, these geniouses don't realize, some people have lives and do things on a saturday night.....I put off plans for tonight and cannot cancel saturdays commitments.....

So what do I do with my mountain of blackrock, my acres of snakeskins, library of ophidian orders and books...oh yeah, and my pantry of ophidian chow??

later devs.....much.

[/ QUOTE ]Nope... not at all. It was played up as a two-day event. Many of us thought they'd finally learned from their good old "here's an event, whoop, it's over" type of stuff.

To play _THIS_ up as a two day event... cost EA a good deal of credibility today.

And when I see friends tomorrow who ask me how my online event thing went today, I can be like, "What? Oh, that? It was nothing."

As we mentioned multiple times, this event was the setup. But if you had missed tonight, and came tomorrow and saw what those who came today get, you'd have been even *more* upset if we'd simply downplayed the importance of today.

I agree with many here though that that one line does not suggest only a few minutes. It does suggest that tonight would not be as big as tomorrow but not only a few min.

At least it was also stated that those who did show up tonight would have some other effects for tomorrow. So maybe that will make up for it. *hopes*

It still doesn't mean you could have made the scenario MORE INTERACTIVE. You could have done something more than 2 minutes of NPC chatter.

That being said, those who missed it by a few seconds are not going to benefit then as much as those who were there for the 2 minute event yes? Just curious.
