Are new Replicas dropping at the new mini-champs

Anyone got any of these beauties yet???or any other new replica???

No one knows for sure yet, I don't think.

But from appearances? The Trammel-rules "mini-champs" get semi-rare resources for Imbuing. The Felucca-rules champs get those Replicas and power scrolls and such.

I ve done the mini champ in the cavern of the discarded and its cool. The 'boss' is insanely tough. I could kill baracoon faster than this guy. Also his loot is on par with an ettin and no ingredients. I did get lots of ingredients from his followers though. I m thinking boss is just to prevent straight farming, but I dont know.

any hints on what? I've killed about four... wait no, 6... 7 if you count the goblins separate, and have gotten nothing other than a sense of accomplishment, and durability damage.

My impression is that the bosses are mostly obstacles, and the rewards come from the normal spawn.

We'll know for sure sooner or later, I guess.

The bosses are the "renowned" versions, right? Or is there something else I'm not aware of?

I've also noticed something really peculiar....There seems to be a rough, inverse correlation between the ease of a normal monster and the ease of its renowned version.

What I mean is this.

I have fought 3 renown critters. Fire Elemental; Devourer of Souls; Wyvern.

Among the non-renowned versions of those creatures, wyvern is easiest, then elemental, then devourer.

But among the renown versions, the wyvern was by far the hardest for me (in fact, it remains un-killed), the elemental was doable, and the devourer was not much harder than its normal version.

I think, from reading through the posts, the bosses are supposed to give artifact drops, such as the ones the Peerless give. Though it'd be nice if they bumped their regular loot packs too. Currently they have the same corpse loot as their vanilla versions.

You know I can't swear that it wasn't a Lava Elemental.

I guess I'll have to go back.

If it weren't for the presence of the renowned critter, I wouldn't have known for sure it was a mini-spawn area at all. It was in the region that's immediately south of the Tomb of Kings entrance to the Abyss.

Actually that pretty much kills my hypothesis.

I will for now chalk up the toughness of the renowned wyvern to some peculiarity of that creature.

The renowned pixie was freakin hard, i couldn't kill it myself.

From what I remember, I killed the Clan Scratch rat one at least 8 times (alone for most of them; possibly more killed than that), one time each for the other two (alone), fire ele 5 times (alone for all but one), fire daemon 3 times (twice alone), devourer of souls once (alone), the two goblin ones twice (alone again), and the wyvern twice (both times with help). Most of those times I also killed the entire spawn from start to finish by myself.

We jsut killed the Staygean Abyss Dragon and it had some cool artifacts, like the Life Syphon sword, some other shield etc..

Isn't that just like the craftable ones though? If not, then that sucks, and calling a GM would be a waste of time since the corpse would time out before they'd even get to you.

Yep, I've killed probably 25 renowned critters so far, if not a few more. Haven't seen one interesting thing yet off any of them. Don't even get the imbuing ingredients off them. Soloed the Skeletal Dragon mini-champ 3 or 4 times this afternoon and got a decent amount of gold and finally hit 10 Essences. But that was it.

Oh man, that sucks then. I didn't think about those being deeded items. It's times like that you wish you could just reach into the screen and physically throttle someone. I wish you luck in getting another one that isn't bugged.

I hope I don't get another before they patch and fix it.. i'm sure it would be stuck too.

Normal pixies usually go down in one hit so I agree with Galen's findings.
