Are L33t SpEaKeRs extinct in UO?

For those of you that don't know what a LeEt SpEaKeR is:

First note the combination of caps and lower case letters they often type this way. Also they say things like: DoOd U Suxxors (dude you suck), L33t, Roxxors, Pawnz etc. Often found in Felucca usually around Yew gate.

I haven't seen one in a long, long time. LOL Not even in fel. I was sitting listening to the UO Parodies by Midas(he uses some l33t speak) and got to wondering what happened to the l33t speakers. lol

I used to have to have my sister interperate for me because I couldn't understand them LOL

I wasn't aware there was a term for them, but come to think of it, I haven't seen much around lately either. I think it's safe to assume most of the kids have left UO for other, newer games, leaving us with the more mature user base. That is the only explaination I can think of.

Then again, I was part of the generation that grew up with/developed the 13e7 sp3ak. Maybe my generation grew up lol.

I think folks grew up and seldom use full l33t speak anymore. Only parts of it, like n00b, j00 suxx0rs, p@wm3d.

I could never get the hang of it.

This reminds me of a CSI miami episode, where this CSI called another CSI 7 3 3 t verbally, and he replied with 'thanks'.

Man, that was so lame...it sounded so wrong when spoken out...

I can decode almost anything by hand if I really have to... used to peek and poke assembly language machine controllers with 500K lines of code. But why do the tough work by hand?
