Apparently summoning Harbingers is NOT considered harassment

Someone summoned a Harbinger on Dread Horn Island a couple days ago. They then left it there without killing it. The Harbinger did not decay at server up and is still in the way. I paged a couple of times and the response I got was...

"We understand you would like our help, but we are unable to assist in this matter."

So apparently even though the original summoner left it days ago, and it is broken and will not despawn even after server up, the GMs do not consider this a problem. So all it takes is one griefer to ruin Dread Horn and all the other peerless for everybody on the server as the GMs refuse to do anything about it.

Anybody else see something wrong with this?

Re: Summoning Harbingers is NOT considered harassment

Well if you're going to go after the Dread Horn with a group wouldn't you be able to take care of the Harbinger?

But I don't think it would be considered as harassment unless there are players there to harass when they released it. If players come afterward I don't think that qualifies.

We tried with a group... the island is too small when you have a Harbringer and a Dread Horn both attacking your party. It was a mess... not even funny.

And ya, if it is preventing others from doing it and there is no despawn time I would absolutly consider it harassment. Imagine if someone went and summoned 5 of these in every peerless room. No group could take on 5 of these along with the peerless. And since there is no de-spawn time, that would effectively end peerless hunts.

Kill it and collect the loot? How this is harassment I cant not see....

On Europa shard, someone let lose a Harbringer at the weekly ingame auction event.... that I think is on the border of harassment :)

Hmm, well I never did try to fight one before...

If you can provoke one, try summoning another and get them to fight one another perhaps?

shouldnt be a problem, just add a few more people to your group. soloing it? well no peerless should ever have been made Soloable. PEERLESS - without peers? as in no ONE person should be able to go toe to toe with one. but thats another issue. technically it should be considered Luring. getting a dangerous mob stuck somewhere it shouldnt, just to kill others is what it is and thats luring. perhaps try at a different time in hopes a different gm that knows his job can help.:danceb:

But hey, think of it this way, if you can kill that harbinger your Dread Horn will look like a walk in the park :D

LoL, really, wow, I didnt think of that... Ill just kill it and take the loot. Come on man, have you tried killing one of these by itself, let alone with a Dread Horn breathing down your back?

I can solo the dread horn easy as pie... but even in a group we cannot take these two together. The dreadhorn curses you for major stat loss... does lethal poison and mass damage, while the Hrab is discording you left and right on top of all of his spells and damage.

Seriously though, these need to go poof if noone kills them in say 2 hours, 5 hours... something. Or in a case like this a GM needs to step up to the plate and simply remove the Harbinger.

....

So get a large group together, maybe a few guilds and go after them. A well organized group should be able to take both out even in a small area.

Oh, I forget, this is UO, everyone rushes in at the same time and gets their asses kicked because they can't think past two seconds ahead, then whines that it should just go away because it's too HARD.

What shard is this on? If it was Oceania, I'm sure a lot of tamers would simply bring their greater dragons over to kill it off. I'm pretty sure that's what you should get on any shard, get 2 posses have one occupy Dread Horn and have the other drag off the Harbinger and occupy him. 4-5 greater dragons will kill Dread Horn off so fast it's not funny. I haven't done a Harbinger myself but doing Lord Oaks is pretty fast if there are a couple of greater dragons around.

i summoned one in a out of the way place, to see if i could solo(couldn't).
i checked to see if it had dissapeared on server up and it was gone. so i would guess that theres a bug with it being in a peerless area or someone is summoning them right after server up

Someone probably came along and killed it would be my guess. Even if it was way out in the middle of the Sea, someone could always chance upon it.

Just call Connor in to kill it. He may want you to summon another so he would get a small challenge from it.

I cannot see how this is harrasment and I really hope that you didn't ruin everyone else's time by filling up the GM lines.

Actually now that I reread you post and saw that you paged a couple times lets me confirm that you indeed did. Sigh.

You know it is there. Use some different tactics. Put together a strike force to deal with it. It really sounds like a challenge.

*thinks* Would it be possible to pop a Harbinger at a Harrower? What mischievous fun!

Can dread horn be provoked onto the harbinger or vice versa?

Well, considering that the Harbinger tosses out acid like a grizzle peerless, you'd need one group outfitted Grizzle-style and someone else working the Dreadhorn.

Anything less than a half-dozen greaters will just be a pet skillloss-fest, as the GDs will just die a lot.

I do NOT recommend pets with the harbinger... it's nothing but a pile of grey dead pets and a mob that is barely touched. His disco and acid drops are lethal to anything that gets up close and personal with him... and don't bother with EV's or summons... they just stand there. THis is way to hard a mob to have in a peerless zone... a fix would be to not allow them to be summoned in certain places... and that island is so small... I don't see a way that even a large group could go in and handle both the Dread and the Harbinger. Would be nothing more than a pile of bodies with no safe place to rez.

A GM should have handled this... no differently than any other time something spawns somewhere that it is not supposed to be.

I hear the OP.

Some azzhole summoned one in the bottom of Destard in the middle of the Shadow Wryms.

Hmmm lemme think Harri + S-Wryms= lots of gray robes and dragons bodies for me and the crew.

Oh well UO= Azzholes R Us. :cursing:rant2::mad::fight::yell:

That would be much easier then it being summoned with DH...I can kill shadow wyrms myself with my greater drag...so have someone stay on the SWs, and a group kill the other...

True that, the DH is a unholy pain in the azz! OMG if someone summoned one in the Grizzle peerless I'd have to hunt them down and beat them into KIBBLE!

the 5 Harbs in that picture were down in a little over an hour with 5 people, and 2 greaters. It was an extreme challenge with all the paragon cus and dryads that started spawning and the occasional swoops the harbs were provo'ing onto to us. we died alot but we got em down.

Here's why I think its not harrassment.

They probably were thinking about the Dread killing the Harbinger the way the ethereal angels do at the fortress. But, you know the Harbinger and the Dread are old drinking buddies. They like to hang out and well, kill people.

Probably just someone that misunderstood how those things worked.

you can provoke the harbinger and dread onto each other, then disco and your set, dread should take it out and no real work needed

If dumping levels 5 and 6 Treasure Map spawn isn't harassment, than neither can doing the same with a Harbinger. Get some peeps together and kill it.

Discord first, makes the provoke easier...
Yes, Discord works great on the bringer... Takes me a couple of tries at 120 Music and Disco, but it really makes them easier to handle. Wish I had provoke as well. Oh well.

Takes 3-4 people to kill the bringer in about 5-10 mins, one is disco bard. Other is tamer with greater. He puts dragon on Bringer, I disco, and the tamer hides. Two healers on Dragon, and its all over but the fat lady singing. Add one person a provoker, and once you disco bringer provoke it on DH. It would work. I am not saying wont be any deaths, but that is the price you pay for such fun.

1 person tanks Dread Horn with a greater dragon not attacking Harbringer (=no discord for the DH tank) while the rest kill off the harbringer. Pretty simple.
