Anyone use a Razer Naga Mouse for UO?

Some one recommeded it in a post a couple of months back. I bought one to replace my battered 7 button razor. Very nice. I map the extra buttons to my uoa macro hotkeys (alt+ctrl+shift 1 to 0).

This allows me to easily use unweildy keystrokes for macros, and frees up more keys for other macros.

It's a rather small mouse tho, and takes some getting used to. The placement of some of the buttons are a bit awkward to use, like mouse button 4 and 5 that are to the left of the left mouse button (requiring moving your finger off the left mouse button), and the last 3 buttons on the numpad (too far back).

However, that still leaves me with 9 usable buttons.

It comes with training pads that you can use to get used to the feel of the numpad.

All in all, I am very happy with it.

I've looked at it a couple of times... but never actually bought it. I think I'm more afraid I'll end up doing things with it on accident. Buttons are a bit on the small side.

I think I prefer my G-13 and a regular mouse.

I've used one now for about 8 months and it does take some time to get used to all the buttons on the side. They do provide you with some rubber bumps that you can stick on the buttons that helps feel your way around the different ones. The buttons are also a little stiffer compared to my Logitech MX518. The only downsides I have with the mouse is that the last row of buttons are so far back that it can be a little difficult using them all the time, so I just map them to macros that I don't use that often. The other problem is that there are also two buttons just left of the left click that are very difficult to use because the left clicker is indented it makes it hard to use your index finder and because they sit so far forward and up it is very hard to use your thumb as well. I don't even bother using those buttons. After about a month of use you will start getting the feel of everything and probably wouldn't know what to do without the extra buttons.

With the mouse being so small I find using the 12 side buttons awkward. I have to grip it with my fingertips & thumbtip to manuver it which makes moving it right a problem when attempting to use my thumb on a side button. I use the badly positioned button 4 & 5 for 'Use dagger' to skin things and for Invisability.

Personally, I'm not crazy about it. I'm going to get a computer bench with enough room on the keyboard tray for the G-13 on the left and use that for combat macroes. The hangup is I still use a CRT and finding a bench with room for more than a LED screen will be pricey.

Well I currently have a Nostromo N52 Gaming pad which I've had for years... I woudln't even try playing UO without it at this point, bc it would be too weird. The N52 has 22 programable keys, but I can use Use shift states on it so that all the buttons change macros while holding down some other key.. I was just trying to get around that heh. I do like my MX 518 Mouse, but I can't seem to find a Best buy that has the Razer Naga out of box to play with so I was curious what other's thought of it. The G-13 does look nice but it's really no different than my N52... Anyway.. I guess I will play with adding extra macros to my N52 by using the Shift states b4 I check out a new mouse I think. I managed to make a template that needs ~40 Macros lol....

I use a Naga and I think you should know one thing about it. I don't know if this is a windows 7 problem or not since my drivers are updated.

However, there is slight lag when using the buttons on the mouse.

For example:

You get poisoned. You hit your cure pot on your keyboard and then your heal pot on your keyboard and it works almost instantaneous.

However, if you were using the Naga for these macros the cure pot would work immediately but you would be left mashing the heal pot macro 3-4 times before it works.

Just a heads up.

Ewww, I use the same Logitech with the big red topside trackball in the center that i've used forever. I don't know how you guys use optical or the old "under ball" ones. I can't run from one side of the house to the other with those..never could.

I got a razer for 1 year before it stop working... IMHO the razer are a big waste of money...
Now I have an optical mouse of an unknow brand paid 15$ and works better than a razer :D

and with X-Mouse Button I can set all kind of keys with 2d and 3d client (even in the mouse wheel), without delay :)

I was using a Razor Diamond Black Mouse, But I upgrade it to Naga. It awesome for pvp. I using Logitech G15 Version one Keyboard. Now adding Naga marco in it. I really have enough Macro I can set for pvp. For Hardcore PvP, This type of gear is really what a core Gamer need for their Battle. But Need time to get use to the key which is true. I would recomment It strongly and do Check Out G13 keyboard or G15 Version 1 Keyboard too.
