I hear ya there Milton! I havent gotten the code yet either. I had some banter with them a few weeks ago but now...nothing. I thought about emailing them yet again but its starting to annoy me now! If i remeber right this code will expire aug. 31 st. and that date is coming soon. Im starting to wonder if i should just give up on them all together now...

I tried using support.ea.com and the last I've heard from them was 8/20/08.

I suspect they are trying to wait it out until 9/1 and say "so sorry, that offer has expired."

I emailed customer service and got my $15 code. Wanna know something, though?

It wasn't worth it.

I pre-ordered Apartment Life from the EA Store, and there was $7 shipping and $2 tax added to the order. So in the end, I saved $6. :gun:

If I had bought from Amazon, I could get the game for $27 with free shipping. I probably could have gotten it for the same price locally on release day at Circuit City with a little tax added.

$6 is $6, I guess. :sleep2:

LOL...true, but if you operate on "time is money" how much did you waste (based on a minumum hourly wage) getting that $6...???:mf_prop:

I thought about that. That's why i was going to use mine to download the Sims complete collection. I think it would have been free then. Id rather have the box too but that's ok. Free is free!

Still no code but I did receive a nice email from EA saying something like "you recently contacted EA Support - how did we do?"
They are probably sorry they asked. :cursing:

Went to the customer service site and followed up with email, got my codes. :)

Have some information for anyone that's interested: :scholar:

If you have more than one code (from multiple accounts), you can't use them all together to say get $45 off of Sporn. You can only use the codes one per order.

In fact, if you try reduce your shipping costs by ordering three products all on the same order, while you'll only have to pay a single shipping fee you will also only be able to use one code. Which means if you have more than one code, you're better off ordering each item separately. :coco:

Shipping costs are seven bucks, so it's as if the coupon codes are really only for eight bucks if you consider that the shipping costs for going to a bricks and mortar store are a whopping zero dollars and zero sense. Er, cents. :wall:

You can avoid the seven dollar shipping fee by doing a digital download. But there's a download fee of six bucks, so what's the point? :lame:

I didn't get a straight answer as to whether the codes will still be valid when Sims 3 comes out. I think the safest thing to do is to use those codes before they change their mind lol :p

So now I've gotta decide if I really wanna blow $63 for Sims: Pets, Maxis: Apartments, and EA: Going Out of Business. When chances are I'd only play them now and then and only for half a year or so until Sims 3 comes out. :sad4:Decisions, decisions...:sad4:

I think I mistakingly deleted my E-mail about it, I'm contacting EA Support so that I can be distraticed by their utter stupidy and forget about the code.

Oh, and I'm planning to buy spore with it, if, by some chance I get a EA Tech with a IQ :heart:0.

FWIW I was told when I got my codes, after calling EA directly to get them, that they expired on August 31st if not used, so I'm assuming that they expire 30 days after you get them if you don't use them if you got/get yours later than I got mine, which was around the first of August. Didn't matter for me since I used mine for the 30 days off pogo time and for TS2: Apartment Life ($15 off that), but I can see where that would suck for anybody who needed more than 30 days to save up money for whatever they were gonna buy, or like you who was gonna use it to buy The Sims 3. OTOH, it makes sense that it doesn't extend all the way into pre-ordering TS3 because they want to sucker as many people as possible into spending cold hard money as they can for that, not give them $15 off the cost of the game. I know a LOT more people who are not going to buy TS3, either because of EA's latest ****ty customer service, or because they don't want to have to fool with registering SuckRot every 10 days, than are going to buy it. I doubt seriously if all the people who say they are not going to buy it follow through, that we will see a Sims 4 or even very many EPs for TS3. From all the screenies I've seen there is very little difference between TS2 and TS3 anyway, and while I'm a die-hard TS2 fan, I don't see myself spending $200+ again for just the few variations I have seen, even if I was totally satisfied with EA as a company. :coco:

WOW! *faints* Im glad you got yours! : ) Funny thing was that yesterday i was just thinking about mine and i was wondering if i was EVER going to get it. Now by any chance did you recontact them lately? I was thinking about doing that but i thought it would be pointless.

Again happy spending!

That is the odd part....I never contacted them and did nothing beyond responding to the original email last spring, offering a choice between gift cert and pogo membership . :eyes:

I wish I could offer something more concrete than apparant luck-of-the-draw.....:blushing:....:wall:....:(

I got one too, but this was from being a loyal Sims 2 customer. I'll use it on Mansion and Garden Stuff.

Yes, I have. After monthes of yelling at them, I finally got my codes. So I got TS2 and Seasons. I then got a code for buying Sims2 so I still have 2 left. LOL

I used my coupons and ended up with TS 2, Free Time, Seasons and Pets. Plus I got Open for Business locally. I like Sims 2, but I'll never delete my Sims 1. Something about the simplicity of the graphics in Sims 1 that I like.

I haven't decided on Sims 3 yet. Right now, it's too expensive for me, and really want to know more about it before I spend the money. Would be too like EA to pull a lot of the promised features out of it between now and the release date.

I think I cancelled my account before the game was destroyed.

Is it possible that I got a coupon for $15? Or is that for the elite?

TSO subscription was connected to my JUNK email account and there aint no way I'm going to look through all of that email to find it if its not even there!!! :O
