U go to bedlum kill the named monsters for notes then when u get 6 notes, u get a key then u go on to kill the grizzle boss, the grizzle mare drop is very rare.
(to get into bedlum u gotta do a quest also, located at umbra healers)

They arent ethys, using it creates the pet for you, and then it is mountable and all that jazz.
