well i took your advice on board and have tweaked a few bits :)

Just wondered if this realy did look any better?

OLD VERSION: -

NEW (IMPROVED?) VERSION: -

So is there a real big improvement??? all comments welcome
also i would like a way to display items in the room with the long pew bench in it but i dont want to use bar tops or blocked together stone tables seems that those ways have been used all over the place! i did contemplate using podiums but i thought you creative people here may have a few suggestions :)

Personally I'd have had the line of mats running the other way, with the length of the room, maybe 2 rows with alternating joins, like bricks? The ones under the thrones I'd leave the way they are.

I like the ideas you have, but I am totally distracted by the gazas. My eyes go straight to the gazas. I think mostly it's because of the color, but I also think it is because the way you have them laid. My eyes just want to follow the path of the gazas and not anything else. If you want a path leading to the thrones I would suggest either dulling down the gazas or using different coordinating floor tiles. Just my thought.

for your displays in the rubble pew room, perhaps decorative boxes made of oak? then you'd have some extra stash spots, too ~~ you can also raise goza to top them off for deeded items ~~ depending on what you want to display, probably a mix of stands would work well there, to kind of offset the singleness of that long bench

maybe in the throne room move things around a bit? I would move the music box over in front of the stair wall and set the thrones side by side ~~ take the foxglove and put them just outside the arch going into the throne room from the display area

and I *know* you have more curtains, did you try making a kind of alcove around the thrones from them?

I like it better without the black mats. What I would change - take out the evil altar and put something in that is long and rectangular, say two east facing water troughs (they point south) with some bushy plants on top of them in front of the benches in the middle of the room (with room to walk around) as a planter, or something else that you can look at while sitting on the benches.

Those purple goza mats are *very* bright and detract from the room IMO. Probably your monitor is set darker than mine, mine is super bright and so anything that is light colored comes off especially bright to me. Anyways, I'd go with a much darker more royal purple if you have to have purple, or a dark red. But what I think might look better is to do the goza mats in black then put colored fishnets on top. They would all have to be the same color, either that red or I think there is a dark purple? The lavender would be too light I think. But that would give you uniformity and the color you want and would look kinda carpety.

Just a thought, anyways. :)

Here are 8 red nets raised 1 tile above black goza mats:

The color is a bit washed out from me using paint to capture the image, but you get the idea.

MUCH better without the black gozas. Although I know you are enamored of the idea of the rich purple carpet, I honestly think you would be much better off pulling them all.

One of the frustrating things about the gozas is that it is difficult to get a deep color, because that ends up just being the border, while the main part of the carpet is automatically reduced in intensity. That annoys me to no end! That is why we are so often left with black as our only choice, but it was just too strong a color for your sandstone arrangement.

Also...the evil altar looks a bit out of place, as Sarsmi mentions. You have those wonderful rubble counters - try something that complements them. :)

hehehe your right i am enamered (god i hope i spelt that right) by the idea of having a carpet but not really by the colour - the colour was simply done because i wanted a a red carpet like movie stars or the queen etc would walk on but - i not a big red fan and when it came to royal / regal colours all i could think of was either - red - purple or blue and purple was my fave outta the 3 lol

I like the idea of the planters ( i forget who suggested them off hand - the sacrificial alter in that room is going to be moved but i didnt want to leave the room bare - and with those benches looking like pews it was the a case of the best thing i could find :)

I would like to thank everyone for there comments and i hope to play about with all that has been suggested!

I will aim to show the results in thenot too distant future :p
thats if u can put up with me posting here :D

thanks again

I think it's neat to see the progression of designs, and you definitely have some good elements like that little throne area. Agreeing that the gozas are too bright though - black with the fishing nets would probably look SO much better! Good luck with your displays :)

Currently trying ths but i am having roblems getting one to stack upon another :( - was going to try making a multi height / tierd structure of sorts

maybe in the throne room move things around a bit? I would move the music box over in front of the stair wall and set the thrones side by side ~~ take the foxglove and put them just outside the arch going into the throne room from the display area
I am moving the music box - as forthe thrones i wish i could get them side by side but hats the clsest they can go, if you try to get them next to each other you get the message "omethings blocking this structure" or words to the same effect

and I *know* you have more curtains, did you try making a kind of alcove around the thrones from them?
i have curtains coming out of my ears hahahaha :) i did try to make an alcove but in all honesty i thought that it took up to muc of the room and mad it look a tad on the small side :)

Would like to thank everyone for ideas :)
