Any benefit to having overcapped DCI without reforged armour?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but overcapping DCI (to stay at max DCI when hit by Hit Lower Defense) no longer works.

You can raise the DCI cap with refinements. Not reforging.

Thats what I meant

My question is whether overcapped DCI will have a noticeable impact in combat without having a higher DCI cap. The patch notes say it no longer has an effect, but it is often different in practice.
