Spoiler alert for those that haven't watched the last episode of The Walking Dead. Bob got bit while Rick's group was raiding a food pantry close to Gabriel's church. He later walked out and sat alone in front of the church, where what remained of the Terminus group knocked him out and took him to a nearby school. When he awoke, he found out they cut off and bbq'd his leg. But the jokes on them, because Bob was already infected and was "tainted meat".
It didn't matter though as the Terminus group raided the church after they saw Rick and some of the others leave. This was a trap, it seems because Rick soon returned to catch the three about to bust into one of the rooms where the others were holed up. The terminus leader lost a hand from a shot from Rick's "Dirty Harry" type gun. The Terminus group were then summarily killed.
The group splits up with Maggie and Glen going with Abraham and the 'scientist' to DC while the others wait at the church to see if Daryl and Carol come back from chasing the car with the sticker of a cross on the back windshield.
The last scene with Daryl coming out of the woods alone and spoke with Michonne tends to suggest that either Carol didn't return with Daryl, or something happened to her, or that someone else is with him. We'll see during the next episode.
I have been a fan of the zombie genre for a long time and I do like to critique the tactics of the 'heroes' of the movies and shows. With that said, here are a few mistakes I feel that Rick's group made during the last episode.
1) Never go off alone. Bob went outside of the church by himself at night. That's a big mistake. Even though Bob was already infected by the zombie bite earlier, he should have never left the sight of the others. Many situations that the group have seen, in seasons 1-4, should have lead them to this most important rule. This mistake was made three times in the episode. Daryl, most of all, should have known better than to blindly chase after a car, not knowing what situation he was walking into. And Michonne sitting on the front steps alone. Tsk tsk, they should really know better by now.
2) The group over the individual. Bob was selfish by not sharing that he had been bitten during the raid on the food pantry. He could have put the whole group in jeopardy if the turned quickly.
3) Never trust a stranger. This has been Rick's biggest flaw. He should have learned this lesson in season 1. Coming upon a priest in the woods alone while surrounded by zombies was a bad scene. He should have kept his distance and moved along. If he did so, Bob would have still been with the group.
