Animal lore required to lore wild creatures?

I read somewhere you needed 110 animal lore to use animal lore on wild creatures, yet I have 100 in lore and I lored some wild stuff fine, so i'm a bit confused. I don't want to take lore higher than I have to, but I do want to be able to lore wild creatures.

100 Lore is fine for wild creatures as long as they are tameable. I'm guessing the wild creature you lored was tameable.

You only need 110+ to lore creatures that are not tameable.

0.1 to 99.9 ---> Any tamed creature
100.0 to 109.9 ---> Any tamed or tameable creature
110.0+ ---> Any creature
