So, I hate this website.. Its down, its back up, down again, back up again, down again, each time with new excuses, each time with new promises of a stable host. each time, they let me down..

does anyone know of aNOTHER sig rotator??

"So, I hate this website.." I said that to myself this morning when I got up and I had a PM telling me my sigs werent working again hence, my quote underneath the sig..
I've looked for others, but havent found another one yet.

im serious, the site gets so many hits, he could probably be taking ads from game companies, phone companies, etc..

I got a site with x10hosting. Its free and they allow you to run PHP. All you have to do is upload your images and a php file (that's easy to make) to the main directory of your site after you sign up. Then put tags around the link to the php file in your sig box here on stratics. That's how I started hosting mine after they crashed last time. Everytime the page refreshes a new sig loads.

When I get home I can post the text and directions to make a php file if you want to go that route.

it just dawned on me, I can just give you the link to my php file and you can just upload a copy to your directory containing the sigs. If you go with x10hosting make sure you upload them to the images folder. It won't work in a folder that's not public.

Go to http://blacksun.exofire.net/images/ and download the php file in the directory. (Right click and save link as)

Download that php file, and upload it into the images folder on x10 along with all your sigs. Then in the sig box here on stratics put {img]http://yoursitesURL/images/rotate.php[/img}
(obviously change the { and } to [ and ] )

You can customize the URL so it might not be the same as mine. It took me a few minutes to figure out the management page for the host, I recommend taking the tutorial they offer. Save yourself some grief.

If you decide to use another host, make sure they allow you to run php scripts. My ISP gives me free webspace, but won't allow it to run php so I had to find a free host (hence my using x10hosting). Hope this will help.

Actually that translates into "Black Sun provided the wrong link because he didn't pay attention to what he was doing".

I edited the post. Follow the link to the open directory for my page, you'll see my 2 sigs and a php file. Right click on the link to the php file and save it. That's what I meant to put in the first time. That's what I get for posting from work and not paying attention to what I'm doing.

I got the directory, clicked the php file, it opened a smaller version of your sig Sun, but it wont let you right click and save as a link

Yeah that site is pretty unstable. The quality is great but the instability kills it. I haven't bothered to change anything yet and randomly I'll see my sigs working every other day.

Im not positive, but I believe these clintonio guys are ESL.. Kehhe, and they STILL type better than some of our EFL people..
