@StonewallGL Just so you know, extending it by 24 hours from last bid is not what was meant by "24 hour auctions " have an exception to the bump rule.

24 hour auction means the auction runs for 24 hours, and then stops.

If you want to let this go 24 hours from the last bid that's fine, but the normal bump rule would apply.

Yes some clarification would be nice as this seems very nit-picky and hard to understand the intent behind the post. I mean he didn't break any rules and actually hadn't posted until today since Thursday. What the heck is the problem here?

My interpretation of Captn Norrington's post was that the style of auction that I chose would not get the same special treatment with respect to "bumping" that is given to short auctions (defined as auctions with 24 hours or less between the start and end times). I don't think it was meant to warn me that I was in violation of any rule, but if I'm mistaken please let me know.

Exactly what I meant.

This is the first 24 hour auction of either kind I've seen since the new rules were created so it was just a preventative post to let him (and anyone else) know the type of auction didn't qualify for the special bump exceptions that were recently added for 24 hour auctions, he didn't do anything wrong, I just didn't want him to get a bump rule warning for over-bumping thinking the special exception applied to this type of auction.

This type of auction is perfectly fine if anyone wants to do it this way, nothing wrong with that.
