An Ideas for Event Items

Nothing personal about. Just stating fact. You want people to look at my history, then they should look at yours too and know why you are so outspoken on keeping event items rare.

I have sold exactly one item in years of playing. It was for a lot. Coincidentally, other items with the same property were dropped that same week.

Can someone please post their "legitimate" reason why an item should not be able to be xferred? I play on many shards but have houses on only one. For the people stating that there should be a remembrance of the event on your shard, i would direct you to the EM rewards house. On every shard that i am familiar with, the EM displays one of the dropped items from every event there, plus more. All contest winners, etc, etc have some kind of item displayed there as well. I don't want to inflame this thread more, i am legitimately curious as to the justification of keeping all EM dropped items on a particular shard.

Europa has competition rewards on display and a reward house, But no offence to the Ems who do an amazing job there, But the reward house is fairly empty.

Had it have one of each item given out with perhaps a date in a book near them I would be very happy.

This of course brings a whole new point about why I dislike xsharders. Quite recently at each EM Event 2-3 new characters come along to the event - Which is great! What isn't great is when no items are given out they then begin to insult and say how crap the event is out loud - These people should be jailed imo.

So WootSauce to summarize, My reasons for NOT allowing it are:

- To retain shard history
- To keep spammers/xsharders from coming (The ones that insult events)

Theres only 1-2 that do it, I tend to ignore them but I still feel for the EMs that need to listen to their crap, Especially when the event was exceptionally good storyline wise.

LOL A lot you know. I do attend events on my home shard all the time. What I don't do is go to other shards just to get items to sell for a profit. I attend events for community first and am tired of all the item mongers attending them for the items that they sell for profit. You only go to get items for profit.

Please elaborate. I don't understand your correlation with being a collector = collecting for profit. Reminds me of underpants gnomes...

1) collect underpants
2) ???
3) profit.

It does not work that way...there is no mysterious step two...unless you count the collector spending 20 mil to send their items back home on a noob so they can display them. In any case, the end result is hardly a matter of profit if said collector just collects...

Also, who cares who gets what? If someone attends events to support the time EMs share with us, should they not be able to enjoy something the same way they do on the shard of their choosing? If not...do you have another idea in mind to help generate the lost revenue from lack of character transferring?

Europa has been a home of sorts of mine now for 2 years...I treat staff with the same type of respect as I would my homeshard...in many cases even moreso. If you think I shouldn't actively participate there because I am not from there originally as a shard of origin...just let me know. I will happily refuse to rez you the next time I see you die if you think outsiders are an issue.

I am fine with how events currently work and like the fact that items can be xsharded as I like to collect theme specific items, not event specific items.

I only play Atlantic btw (hard to get items with large groups).

Also I think EM's should create a ranking system and hand out items rather then place them as lottery drops. EM's should evaluate the effort of players by:
1. Did he work with the main group?
2. Did he heal/cure/res others to assist the group?
3. Did he kill random spawn along with the main creatures?

But I know this will lead to calls of favoritism so, the lottery is fine with me. I have a free lotto ticket for every event I attend so long as I smack a few monsters =)

Simple reasoning here.. If there's just a couple of event items created during EM events.. thereby making them rare.. they should remain on the shard created for the benefit of that shard, not for someone's personal gain selling it on another shard. There's no valid reason to be able to take it to another shard. Rares collectors aren't the only ones who "display" rares.

No one is trying to stop the player who wants to be a rares collector. There are already plenty of rares available to make their billions on and I'm sure there will be more created in the future (thief jewelry anyone?).

EM events are different. They are shard specific for that shard's community. Napa isn't like Atlantic isn't like Great Lakes isn't like Baja. EM events almost always take the shard community to successfully complete the event. There is no reason 1-2 people should profit from the effort of everyone. EM event items, when given out, should be given out to everyone who participates in the event, or not given out at all... either case is fine by me.

In turn not only making money for the person selling them...but also putting more gold into that specific shards economy...which is a GOOD thing.

BTW...an event does not take the shard to complete...it only takes a group of people who work together...in your case though I can see where the entire shart might be necessary.

well...im of the same mindset as you...but most of those who do that are from the shard of event origin...outsiders are often reserved...out of respect to the host shard.

If EM event items drop for everyone who participated in the event, then nothing will stop, nor should stop people from cross sharding, or collecting. If the EM's decide they only want 1-2 unique/rare items dropped during their events, then at the very least they should ensure they are not lost to another shard. If it's just about collecting, then it shouldn't matter one wit whether there 10 or 10,000 of a particular item in the game.

Again, pure crap for logic. No one is advocating an elimination of a play style...collecting (rares or otherwise). If collectors want to collect EM event items that have dropped for everyone who participated in an event.. have fun, go forth and multiply. Want to collect shard birth rares? Mesanna created rares? "themed" rares? Go forth and prosper. Specifically related to EM events, if you can't solo it, you shouldn't get a rare. If you can solo it, then go forth and have all the rares you can get your hands on.

We are hurting for gold in our economy? Since when? laughable the logic. Hence my advocacy for making sure if there absolutely positively needs to be event rares created for EM events, then make sure they stay on the shard they were created on.

So the point all EM items from all shards can be fished up on any shard.


Slim chance but a chance and then we must have 1000 different EMitems to pull up if the roll is successful. This wont sink the market.


So this would be good for the collectors and the fisherman.
