It occured to me moments ago (so no it hasn't had a whole lot of thought!) that for a long time now we've had Provoke, Discord, Peace & Area Peace as the basic bard repetoir.
Which got me thinking what about a possible Area Provoke and Area Discord. They would work in a similar way to how Area Peace is initiated, but have some restrictions to reign them in a bit. For example (and both would apply only in PvM):
Area Provoke.
Every 20 points in Provoke causes 1 pair of any valid targets in range to aggro on each other. At 120 Provoke this would be 6 pairs.
After 5 seconds the aggro would end, the same way it does when a normal Provoke wears off, with some delayed spells/breaths/special abilities going off a few of these may resume fighting, can't really see a way around that, unless the break was made into a Peace type effect.
Area Provoke would have a 10 second cooldown. (From previously initiating it, not it wearing off.)
The more Provokes you're entitled to do the less success you would have, so for example at 120 skill although it would attempt to Provoke 6 pairs, your success chance would be 50% as effective as doing the pairs one at a time with direct Provoke. This would be the main balancing factor so that on high level spawns you couldn't just tie up the whole lot in one swoop you would get a lot of failures. Perhaps scaling back to as successful as direct Provoke at 40 skill.
Failures would work the same as normal Provoke failures and aggro the monsters on you.
Area Discord.
This could pretty much work the same way, perhaps 6-12 targets at 120 skill, the more targets it affects the less success chance compared to direct Discord.
After 10 seconds all effects wear off.
10 second cooldown. 5 second cooldown if all attempts fail.
Edit: Oops! Forgot to mention the effect would also be reduced, maybe half.
