I have never shut an account, and find now that I must.... question is, if I go to the account management page and cancel the account (well, I just thought of another question...)

1. has anyone done this? does the account stay listed on your master account so it might be recoverable at some point?

2. say account is cancelled today.. do I still have access until the time allotted by payment is run out?

good grief, third question....

3. do the houses go into decay at cancellation or when account time is used up

thanks for your help, guys.... as you can tell, I'm easily confused

1. Yes, you will be able to reactivate the account via your master account.
2. Yes, should should be able to continue accessing the account until the payment period runs out.
3. Houses should not begin to decay until the payment period runs out.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's been my experience.

Houses don't begin to decay until the account has been inactive, unpaid for, for 90 days.

Under the old billing and account management page it was a simple click. With the tooth pulling to get things right under the new system. I may just get another credit card and transfer the balance and cancel the one UO knows. Might be easier.

The hard part is getting it set up to begin with. Once your master account is set up, I found it pretty easy to cancel/renew accounts.

Just popped on EA and checked on accounts. Got a load of billing crap to clean, done to keep account active. But there is a big tempting red button on the bottom of the window. May have to use the vendor BOD storage trick and test that red button out. Always better to have more then a dozen vendor out in the middle of nowwhere instead of a another account with a house. If billing and the devs compared notes on game mechanics I think there be many things been not allowed in the game. More players + More accounts = $$$$$$. Not hard math. State of UO the billing office workers only play Cribbage.

Billing change is scary. Don't feel like paying for something I already have. Another thing that should stack.
