Am I going to have issues at the origin store...

Ok so I bought an EA gift card at for $20. I'm finally going to upgrade to S/A however I'm worried that they will try to take money from the game card to verify the balance then when they attempt to take the money for the upgrade it's going to give an insufficient balance error... I thought I had read that here before. Any input would be greatly appreciated

I always thought that the verification step was primarily for subscription fees. If you're going to try to buy an upgrade I would think that you will be safe. Unfortunately there really is only one way to find out.
