Am I doing something wrong?

Im trying to get imbuing up to 25... ive unraveled like 500+ items and im just at like 14. This is taking for-freaking-ever going out and killing goblins for 45 minutes to get a full bag worth of stuff only to get 1 or 2 points of gain.

Does it just take like 2000+ items, or am I doing something wrong?

Why don´t you buy the skill up beyond 25?

You´ll nee all the residues in the later gaining. So 2000+ won´t be a real problem to use later ...

But a question from me, too: If i imbue with one residue and unravel later i get this on back. If i imbue with 2 residue i only get 1 back. Am i missing some trick here or will ich constantly loose residue later in the gaining process? I´m at 78 right now ...

You will lose later in the process, that's the way it is. When you get to the point where you need to imbue two items, use exceptional jingasa's, they give you guaranteed mage armor mod, so it increases difficulty while minimizing resource use. Unravel those after ten successful imbues. As a point of reference, from 119.0-120.0, I used 1961 magical residue. It's a massive time and resource consuming skill.

I'm on siege you cant buy skill. And I only need enough residue to get to 70, then ROT kicks in.

Home forge. Would using the public forge help me to get to the 25.1 hump?

I used home forge on Siege. I am at 72 imbuing. Most of my lower gains I put a combination of hit dispel and luck onto homemade daggers. I went through a lot of gems untill I hit rot. It really didnt take a ton of time to get to 70.

What is the race of the character, Uvtha? And, which soulforge are you using?

The gargoyle racial bonus, and the bonuses that the two soulforges in the Royal City have, might be interfering with skill gain. You're better off training on a crafted soulforge.

Hello Siegers,

I got stuck at 24.something, too. But - it turns out you can gain skill by imbuing at that level - so just start imbuing luck or hit dispel on tinker bought skinning knives and you'll be good to go in a hurry!

I ended up just doing anything I had gems for at 24, at 36 now, waiting for vendors to respawn gems, but they dont seem to want to.
