Well you seem to have no problem running the leet gear so I do not really see why it pisses you off at all.

Its not gonna be nearly as ubiquitous here, cause there are like... 2 miners on the shard, if that, and zero fishermen that I know of.

Yes, it can be imbued, but powder it to max durability first. Imbued items can't be powdered and will eventually wear out - of course on Siege it could have had a few dozen owners by the time that happens
You can't imbue anything that is either enhanced with, or made from, special materials.
You can however unravel items that are enhanced or made from them.

I think the odds of repairing something 25 times at less than 10 durability lost would mean it would eventually lose 1 point, faster than if you repaired it at 1 durability.

I could be wrong though.

You're forgetting that with a 120 repair deed, items only lose durability 50-ish% of the time (last I looked it up). The items will last a long time in PvP.. will even last over a month of PvM.
