Alliance and Waring Guilds

I am just looking for information on waring and allied guild options, what they entail and the rules.

I tried my best to find the information but have been unsuccessful so far. My guild and a friends guild wanted to have a mock war as an event and we wanted to know the specifics of waring a guild before we did.

WarRing.

You can be killed anywhere and be looted anywhere. That's the specifics of warRing.

You can just ally (sp?) the 2 guilds. Then you can kill each other anywhere too.

1) Can an allied guild be placed into a timed war with another allie?

2) Is it true you can set time limits on the war?

3) Are there any other rules you can set?

4) Do they affect the guild in any way? (for example like factions and only being able to res your own faction)

If its just in alliance there is no timer, no killcounts. You just all agree to the rules and when to stop.

Edit: Guild war feature looks cool

Thanks so much for the link HD that is exactly what I was after....yet when I searched uo.com and stratics just couldn't find it ( I blame the head cold).

I will now pass on the information and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

I was just wondering does anyone know whether or not warring affects your allies?

I mean if PoC entered a war does it put our alliance members at risk of attack?

Yes, I believe it does. Because if you go into the Diplomacy section to declare war (try it and you'll see the options before you actually declare it OFFICIALLY, which gives you some information), you can only complete the declaration of war if you are the GM of the Guild that owns the Alliance.

IE: I just tried to declare war on another guild and it said I couldn't, as I wasn't the leader of the Alliance.

Thanks Cymmy I just found that out today from someone in the guild, so warring is probably not an option as I do not wish to have our allies put at risk.

We are still talking it all over and coming up with some other idea's for pvp events for the guild so I guess we will see what happens.

Back when RED was up and about (and will be again soon), we used to have a little war with SR once a fourtnight or so. You can set kill limits etc. We used to play in Luna, and set a limit of 10 kills, so basically the first guild to get to 10 kills wins.

It was always good fun, would last around 10mins or so and everyone had a blast. The downsides to the waring system is looting and rezkilling. We just set rules on them and we all stuck to them, so you just need a guild you can trust.

Yes anyone in your alliance will be braught in too, but personaly i belive as long as everyone is aware of whats happening it should be fine.

My latest idea was to get the two warring guilds at the solen hives and have a first to 20 bash. We always had allied guilds but made sure they knew where the fight was going to be.

What it comes down to is a matter of trust and respect. Make sure people know the war is between guilds A and guild B and none others. etc etc.

Its realy good fun. You get a message on your screen saying somthing like "Congratulations you have won the war" or "Guild A have defeated you"

Thanks Jahira-Tor, this is actually where we are at now with the idea, working out a way to do it without hurting the alliance but also figuring out what guilds we could try this with, without fear of it causing more drama.

Does anyone know if you can war and allie, for example if I wanted to organize and event with TBD where we mock warred for 2 hours and 20kills or something like that can I do this and not affect the alliance as they are a member of our alliance.

Hmm i dont think in that situation you could do an "official" war with the game itself counting the kills. However you could always just have a royal rumble and get people to call out over alliance chat when a kill has been made. To save messages everywhere going up, have the person killed shout it out.

Alternitavly, You could drop TBD from your alliance for the purpose of having a war, then re alliance afterwards, thats what we did with RED and S^R. God i miss Bryson.... *sobs*

Thanks Jahira - the dropping of someone from the alliance for the war was not something I had thought of. I had thought of just waring them without the counter.

All the guild are excited by this as a possible event and once I am over this cold and sprained ankle I will get to it and organize something.

Thank you everyone for the help.
