I finally GMd a skill WOOT!!! Tactics of all things. Thanks to Kage for giving me the advice of not locking it.... I am almost to 100 on Fencing and anat. At this rate Ill have a full GM char in say ... 10 months LOL !! COME ON ROT CHANGES

Congrats on GMing something !!

ROT is a pain, yes. There's no doubt about it.

I've been playing on Siege approximately since the beginning of the year and I'm roughly about to hit 7X GM on my one and only character (a pure crafter).

The secret is persistance. Make sure you log on EVERY DAY and max out your allowable gains for the day. I am lucky that I am able to log on from work every 15 minutes to get my gains.

ROT has HELPED ME GREATLY on Siege because it gives you GUARANTEED gains while wasting the minimum amount of resources (wood, ingots, regs, etc.).

Let me stop babbling and give you one final CONGRATS on GMing your first skill.

One great trick is to use a kitchen timer. You can download a couple, but I use the one on my cell phone.

you realize thoo, by the rate you are getting your gains, you most likely wouldnt have higher skills if there was no rot. even with rotchanges, you actually have to get the gains yourself

depends...

some casual gamers aren't complete nubs at powergaming (I being one of them) where on Siege it takes me forever and a day to finish a skill... I can powergame it in a day or two on any other shard.

What they don't realize is that some people play in blocks (ie. a whole saturday) then don't log on at all until the next weekend rolls around...

exactly !!! thats my problem is. very little time durring the week and usually a block of 6-8 hours on the weekend. doesnt fit the Siege RoT system very well. However I do enjoy Siege much more than any Prodo shard.
