Does this not seem like a logical thing to do to anyone else? Since they removed static mining spots, mining kind of well, stinks.

You can buy a book from the blacksmith in Ter Mur that allows you to mine the old gems.

lol, and then there are us miners that got it the first day it was out. Ok, maybe second day, I think I had to wait for someone to put a public rune out for the city.
It does get a little confusing having half a dozen choices on the shovels now though if you mis-click.

That is because, if you set your shovel/pick to mine gems, you will (when randomly successful) get ONE gem of the old type, INSTEAD of getting ore. And it takes how many gems to imbue a single proprty on an item?

1-10 per attempt; most people rarely imbue anything that takes over 8.
I like it because I can STILL get ore elementals from garg picks when gems come up, and that gives me
1. lots of gems.
2. About the same ore as mining for ore only with normal tools
3. when in Ter Mur, more than double the chance of crystalline blackrock.
