Ok, today is the 12th of August. Does this mean that the account center is back up?? Also, what is the new URL for it?? I tried searching for account center, account management, but I was not able to find it. In addition to this, I called technical support, and guess what??? I found the reason as to why UO is going down the toilet.........So anyone know what the address for the new account management??

It was frustrating to me as well...on the 5th i bought the high Seas upgrade as well as a 7th character slot only too find out when trying to apply them that the account center went down on the 5th. According to the FAQ it was going to be up on the 11th, and they didn't even update us properly when that wasn't going to be the case. SWTOR cannot get here soon enough!

Same here... only, I bought SA too.. didn't get the 7th character slot... I'll get that later.

At least for me it has given me time to skill up my new mule before I go get into all this new craziness.

The official account migration FAQ page still says:

• When will the account center be offline?
o On August the 5th, 2011 the account center will be offline for maintenance. It will come back up on the 11th of August. As we update the account center and migrate billing information, account transfers and other payment associated services will be offline. This is necessary so we do not affect account data during the transfer.

Why would I go to UOHerald when they set up a special FAQ page? Of course then I would ask why don't they update the FAQ page...

The funny thing is I was going to reactivate an account so that I could paint a boat. Since the "Account" link is still deactivated as they are still working on account migration... I was initially baffled. Then I realized I could (still) log into the deactivated account for free.

Problem solved, right? Nope, for some reason I can't paint my boat anyway so they still got me! Silly me thinking I could do something that should take less than 5 minutes in under an hour.

I also follow the various UO Twitter feeds and their last account migration update Tweet was Wed, Aug/10 at 19:02. The Tweet contains a broken link to follow: "The requested page could not be found."

Does anyone at UO understand how websites, forums, Twitter, and Facebook actually work? They are wonderful mechanisms for pushing CURRENT information to your many subscribers.

UO/EA has turned finding current info into some kind of scavenger hunt.

They seem to keep forgetting that every time a user logs onto UO they are presented with that nifty info screen. Wouldn't it be a crazy idea to use that consistently to keep players updated on game issues, etc.

They seem to update it as an afterthought, if at all.

Also, it will be interesting to see if they remember to re-set the links they changed so we can get to account management from the client logon screen again.

That update came AFTER the posts you are referring to on Stratics. Are you familiar with the concept of time?

And, the link I posted which leads to the "Account Migration FAQ" still has outdated information.

Not everybody is like you Korik..not all of us have the time to sit around waiting for updates on the website.. first get a life and then go play in traffic!
