Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like on a character in classic client and the enhanced client?

Uoguide has a picture of it. Would be nice to see many hair styles with it cause the one they have it doesn't look that good to me. Maybe a different style it would look really good.

anyone know if facial hair gets dyed along with hair - or do you need to buy two dyes?

Clearly a typo on UOCodes, they meant to call it Abysmal hair dye...

NO just like any other dye, all you do is remove your beard then get a new one and the color will be your beard. Or thats how it use to work.

Um, why did this dye my hair a bright red? (in the Enhanced Client)

Isn't it supposed to be *black*? The one natural hair color in rl that we cannot get in the game?

Abyssal is not black, its dark khol with a grey highlight and red undertone. Depending on the hair style you have it will show more of one of the three than the others.

Wow, once again, the Japanese UO site to the rescue. If only the Herald could be that useful. :lame:


The abyssal color has fugly orange hilights in the EC. It looks OK in the CC though.

They have added the skin dye months ago... check the alchemist shop they had a blue bottle for sale at 1.2k and that's the skin dye :)


I wouldn't call abyssal hair dye, but "Put some lava on your hair!"

I am fully aware of the skin dye. I was suggesting Abyssal SKIN dye instead of HAIR.

No, I play on Sakura (Japanese) and Formosa (Taiwan but same support team as US). Sakura has it's own support staff, when I page a gm on Sakura, they show up, in person, never a long wait and they have fixed a few problems on the spot. The Japanese team, even though they were hired to support Japanese players and speak Japanese, all speak perfect English. Now that's having your **** together.

When I page a gm on Formosa (same support team as the US shards) I have never had anything other then the canned response and more often then not, I log out before I move beyond "your number 11 in the que"

Not that it matters to much, but the que doesn't really matter...the system they use now does not even use that que, not sure why they don't remove that msg from in-game.

They use this system:

9.00 am:

3 GM sitting around a table and playing cards...
-> computer: <player asking for help>
GM 1: "Hey dude, someone is calling, who goes to read what he want?"
GM 2: "oh, don't look at me, I've responded to a player last week and my conscience is clear for other 3 weeks..."
GM 3: "so I have to take a look? no way!"
GM 1: "ok, let's finish this hand, the loser will send the bug report mail to this guy so we can keep playing..."
-> computer: <another player asking for help>
GM 1: "No way! another? but this people has nothing better to do than asking for help to us?"
GM 2: "Yeah, they don't pay us enough for answer they babycries..."
GM 3: "I have an idea! Why we don't ask for a program to auto-send the bug report mail to player? so we can play in peace!"
GM 1 & 2: "Yay, let's do that!"
GM 1: "Yes, but who goes to answer this 2 now?"
GM 2: "Oh, come on we are not payed to answer to all this people! Let's go in another room, so they can't bother us..."

8 hours later...
GM 1: "Hey dude, we got 150 pages now, what shall we do?"
GM 3: "Select all and send the bug report email, but hurry we have to go home!"
30 seconds later...
GM 1: "Done! I have to search for another job... is too hard doing the GM"
