A Question for more experienced players...

Hi there I need some help in running UOAM. It is not working properly and its not essential for me, but my mother likes to play the game also and is a complete noob when it comes to finding herself around the map. She gets lost so easily. We tried to run UOAM on both computers but it is not helping.

I know the UOAM author is not updating UOAM since 2003, and if this is the problem let me know, if there is an alternative map software to use please show me a link.

I am sorry to ask this question, its annoying question that is asked constantly probably, but I did search the threads and found nothing useful.

You can try UO Cartographer:

You won't get support or endorsement from EA or Stratics. But there's no repercussion in using it. Stratics staff have been given enough evidence of this that they are not locking/deleting the thread whenever 3rd party apps are mentioned.



There is also a way to get UOAM working, but no official word on that.

The other alternative would be to give the Enhanced Client a shot - it has a built-in atlas.

I will give the Enhanced client a shot. But last time I used it in 2004 I hated the graphics

Also a small question because my mum needs to have town locations such as bank, smithy, mage shop.

I have scoured the thread and downloaded and installed the map files for common, rare, dungeons etc. Its great she love it, she can now find a moongate, but really would like town NPCs and even the town names.

Is there a map file to add NPC town vendors and locations onto Cartographer?

Enhanced Client takes a while to get used to, make sure you take a look at the Enhanced Client forum - there are several nice UI mods for it.

Also you can set waypoints in the EC map, so theoretically you could set waypoints for all vendors and such.
