A need of a boost in spawn for Distilling menu

I have been hard at work making items for our players on Napa for the distilling menu cheaply. (ill get to other shards soon plz be patient)

When I put up the still to get an idea of what was needed I noticed the wide range of items for different mixes... only 1 item stuck out like a sore thumb.... it was going to make it a bit hard to fill and I do have players clamoring for more... only it took me 2 hours to get 4 Tribal Berrys!!! I swear the spawn of berrys is cut down real bad.

Now Guys its not too far out to ether make a seed for a tree that grows 10 berrys like other resource plants.. You could get it off the Shamans like the berrys, random drop so it wont be too easy or make a tree like the apple and peach to give berrys and add it to the spring cleanup. The Artwork is already done.. just look south of the savage spawn in ISH.
There are trees there called Tribal Berry trees. ..Hmmmm you could make them spawn berrys for picking ..... just an idea..

Now I know Napa isnt the hub of UO players needs but we are not the back water of UO ether.... I can imagine the other shards with higher populations and this spawn rate......

That was the only thing that stuck out? Try stealing 6 dates in less than as many hours.

QFT. I offer beverage making for player events where I play... but I won't touch the dates/tribal berry ones. That's just too much effort for no payoff.

How strange. It took me a while to get some berries, but not on the same scale you experienced. You know that the female warriors have them as well as the shamans?

Yes Petra I do. It seems strange cause I had been getting around 8 to 12 every 2 hours.

I tend to pull all the warriors and shamans and kill away, I made over 10k in gold but only the 4 berrys. Honestly they do need a way to get the items for non thief/warriors. Too many players I know are crafter hobbits. Getting them to hop on a warrior or tamer is pulling teeth. hehe

As for the dates.... I have never had trouble getting them but I must admit each shard is greatly different in its Fel side npc placement. Occelo provisioners shop is pertty easy.. hehe heck I been stealing vegies from there as far back as 97!

I can see a new plant bunch of seeds the Dev can make growable.... Date trees, Coconuts, Tribal berrys, Bananas, etc..

I've farmed Berrys in the past, and the drop rate is about the same as ever for me, around 10@hr., at Cove. At 5-6k ea, it's not a money maker, but good for vendor attraction.

Update:
I had help last night from 2 mystics and my mage in 1 hour of killing over well over 500 savages at both the upper end of the valley and at the savage village in the south we got a grand total of 8 berrys. We were killing as fast as the spawn would allow. The berry drop is not enough even for 1 shard of low population for anything!

I can well imagine the other shards with ample population who want to make the liquors on that menu not to mention the savage kin paint for the masses... yes I still sell out of that mix weekly. So .... Dev you ether need to make the berry trees in that valley give fruit or make a better way to get them, oh and I did look at the date situation...

Yea the kids are right that too does need a helping hand. I use to get my dates from the date palms in Magnicia before the town went poof and the chests in occlo. went there last night to see the # of dates in the chests... all I can say is pittifull!!

Dev a hint here for you to consider:
When you make a recipy menu like that of the Liquor Still you need to consider the ready availability of the set ingredence for the size of the shards population who will want them and ajust the spawn accordingly.

I just went in again (Cove), 25mins, solo, killed all, & them most of the respawn, 13 berrys.

PM me any time you want a dozen on LS, I'll gladly donate them to the cause.
It's probably them Men, they're Eating all the berrys.

I noticed too, almost All Luna's were w/o berrys, seems odd

Yea, I would love it if they grew from a seed actually Maybe a rare drop from savages... but the plant produces more seeds. Something similar for dates too. I'm one of those crafting "Don't make me kill things!" players. If I want to kill stuff I get on TF2.

I'm with you. A plant that grows to a tree that gives berrys and seeds would be great along with a Date tree, and any other item they can put to a crafting menu cooking, distiling, we just need non super fighter mode way of getting the stuff we need.

I just don't like being required to do parts of the game I don't enjoy for the parts I do enjoy. I'll mine, I'll cut trees, I'll shear sheep... I'll even do small-time killing (cows for leather, orcs for yeast) but beyond that... yea. It's not like these changes would really hurt anyone. The items are purely for cosmetic enjoyment. Also, Copper Wire could be added to tinkering for copper ingots. *cough*

Oh for wire I can see 50 copper ingots per wire bundle if they ever did make it craftable.
3 120 thiefs...2 gm thiefs , 2 in training...so wire is not a problem... but would be nice to craft it too.
Georox I totaly agree with you, the one thing that Mesanna and the Dev think is EVERYONE is a gungho super fighter with super powers.... cough.... no... I hate to burst their bubble.
I know many who can fight.... but would rather craft, and I know many who dont even own a fighter, just crafters, gardeners, and the number is not small! So that said. I too was not happy they made the berrys so difficult.. I cant blame Cal or this Dev they didnt make it that way... But they can fix it!!! I too was i bit miffed over the inability to pick the berrys. There is a grove of the trees just south of the little camp heading west. Code the trees to give fruit.. or better yet a seed every hour or so. not a whole hell of a lot but enough that players can grow their own supply, Date palms here in Calif sprout seedlings why not have the palms sprout a seed for growers.

Or if that is too complacated how about just devising a set of seeds one can get off lower critters and the savages. This along with berrys they give now. The seeds could be new plants the growers have been clamoring for with the added bonus of growing tribal berrys, coconuts, bananas, dates, lemon, lime, orange.... you can even up the cooking menu a bit with exotic fruits. There is so much the dev can do that would improve the fun in this line of thought.

That's an absurdly large amount. Wouldn't be worth crafting at that point, even with the spawn timers. The idea is to give an equivalent version to crafters, not to add something people would never make.

Yea, I don't bother with the super-powered fighter/mage/tamer characters. I have 2 crafters, a thief,a mage, and a warrior that majors in mining/lumberjacking. My warrior wears a suit of Spined leather, my mage has an LRC suit and is only used to gate/mark runes. Combat hasn't been enjoyable to me in this game since AoS and item stats were added. I play other games for itemization.. I don't want to do the same number-crunching here, but I still enjoy the social aspects/crafting/houses, so I keep returning.

I would love to see some more seeds get added...

At 50 ingots, (about 3k), it's worthless, like it was before. This way, miners and thieves Both get a bit of work to put a little gold in their purse.

But the time invested is completely different for the classes. A thief can just recall to a smith shop, open a thing, look inside, oh, wire, *click* or oh no wire, *recall*.

The miner to get 500 ingots is spending a lot more time and doing a lot more clicking.

Maybe I'm missing something. If for some other reason these are worth crafting other than role play, why bother even making these particular brews. The others do the same things. Would have been nice if they would have given them a use of some sort, a boost or even different animations or something!

Right now that's pretty much it, which is why some of us feel changes need to be made to the system. If the materials were easier to come by, people might feel more encouraged to make them.

I made at least one of each double distilled keg because it would be cool twelve years from now to say I have this keg that's this old I also made the kegs out of oak.

I went everywhere to get a bunch of dates...... I couldnt find a single one.. I dont think the guy who made up the recipy thought that the ingredience would be this hard to get...

We have to remember the dev might know code but do they really play the game??? This I seriously doubt. If they did they would know that bunches of dates is a rare item to even steal and that the berrys dont spawn enough for a small shards population, I'd hate to see the bickering on Atlantic for them!....

After begging for 3 hours and 2 dates I gave up and grabbed stealing off my soulstones. It took me 4 hours to get 5 dates. I then proceeded to try and make my first double distilled batch only to fail on one distillation and get regular. So back to stealing again...I don't know why I had forgotten that you can eat edibles (not raw fish or meats) right out of the barrels and crates (reminds me of bobbing for apples) . Ok after a few times of this I was full already. So how to get hungry faster than normal? Stamina loss! Went home and grabbed a cloak of corruption and put it on to take some serious karmas loss and the necessary Stam loss. Even doing this in several cities prov shops it took me hours to cycle dates.

I think they 'said' it was designed for thieves, so they Know what the spawns are, or was it only the wire they were talking about (which can be gotten by Anybody in Tram land). I think they put it in carelessly. There's Always Something that's screwed up in their product, making it just another FAIL in an ever growing list

How many players have a gm begger? or Gm/120 thief?? Yes sure I have a handfull, but I cant see the Dev being so thoughtless as to put in an item in a menu without upping the spawn. Now the wire in the chests they did up and tell us the secret of the Buc's barrels.

The same should have been done for the Dates and Tribal berrys.

Yup. i carry 10 bottles (and they stack) so thats 100 charges.And they are blessed.

Remembering time past collecting berries and the reported rate seemed low. So I just went to the tribal area just through the tunnel by compassion and got 13 berries in 10 minutes. Seems about how I remember it. This was on Sonoma.

I guess the spawn rate it different depending on the shard. Did see an over large amount of Paragons on the 3 shards I have hunted so far with berry counts very low for a 1 hour test run.
As for the Dates... I went with my thiefs on 4 shards and couldnt find a singe one. Provisioners chests just were not spawning them in a 2 hour run emptying the chests not 1 pack of dates spawned. Very disapointing. No other was there stealing ether , many have given up on both berrys and dates.
