A Medusa in TRAM!!!??? What the…

I was out exploring and I came across this little weird area that I know wasn’t here the last time I passed by. This is near the Covetous dungeon entry, an orc fort barricade. You click the while hanging skeleton and end up on that pad with the red rock… and the red rock doesn’t do anything. Where you see her hit-bar… was her name that had popped up. I had to go inside to get the hit-bar. I had to go into the dungeon, between levels 2 and 3… you will clearly see the Medusa. Honestly, I don’t remember a large mining cave in that little orc spot either… and unlike the newbies of today, when I was new… I knew every screen of Tram and T2A.

Is this something pending... or just one of the many examples of 1 time event trash that's just abandoned and left to take up memory for no reason? The EMs really need to clean up after themselves. hehe.

Any ideas?

This is Tram Atlantic... don't know about the other shards. And she's stuck up on the mountain. I have no clue what the one looks like in the big dungeon, the boss Medusa or whatever. Could be the same artwork.

Yes that is the same graphic as in the abyss. No idea what the area is from. While on the topic of abandoned EM event locations, does anyone know if the insta death rat archer cave is still there? I have lost my rune, and yes i did enjoy gating people i did not like there.

Yes... I know where it is. Very easy to get to. I also miss the days Game Masters would jail and bann people doing that.

The area itself is, as Olcher said, from a (few) Crux Ansata related EM event(s) in January. It's not abandoned, as the story-arc for the meteor is still ongoing, though it looks to me like the Crux Paladin guards are gone now...

As for the Medusa... I'm not entirely sure why she's there. But I'm going to speculate she'll probably be used sometime soon to kill us all...

Medusa has been there since the event that dropped the sky iron there.

I would hazzard a guess that she was placed there by Mesanna and was supposed to be used in the event, but never was used and forgotten. Like the Orc which was a reskined champ boss, Medusa was probably going to be reskinned and renamed.

No chance she will break free and wreak havoc on the lands around Cove! There is a town banner off the south bridge of Umbra that has a gigantic spider. Every so often he runs away. Immortal and all.

I swear, they could do a publish just cleaning up all the old event messes laying around. rolleyes:

Actually they didnt take them out. My warrior did I came across that spot about 2 weeks ago. There were 7 Crux paladins & 1 knight on that lil plateform . I noticed they were blue and i was bored so i figured what the hell, lets see what kind of loot these guys carry. So the first night i killed the 1 guard at the entrance , just to be disapointed seing it only carried what he was wearing + a couple of gold pieces. So i left.

The next day, i decided to go back and take them all out, curiosity and naive optimism whispering in my ear one of them might carry some nice item.

After what seemed an eternity ( they had i would guess at least twice the hp of dread pirates ) I wiped the blood from the knight which i was keeping for desert and began to go through his pockets.

I was a lil vexed to find out that he too, like the first and all the paladins that came before him, held nothing worth all this trouble lol. At least the whole thing helped quench Wardude's blood thirst for an afternoon.

I kept there colourfull shields and tunics as a souvenir.

Have to say I disagree there

I love those old EM event "messes" and actually view them as a special touch to our shard when they are left over. Sure, every now and then one becomes more of a hindrance, but if they were all wiped off, we'd lose a lot of our unique spots.

Yes... you do have some point here, but for those of us not tuned into the sketchy event communication networks… it's so easy never to know anything about these events until they are long over. One could even assume an event is coming very soon, and I get PMs from friends and people connected to me. 9 out of 10 times, I have no clue. This one I found on my own.

Some areas, totally yes… like that big pirate cave, what is great for mining in peace… or tricking out an old cave. But the majority of this rubbish really has no point in the long term. It still falls under the “pick up your toys when you’re done playing” category.

If you question the "communication" issues... game wide, the Magincia rebuilding publish, thats on uo.com, people have no clue because there are no NPC Town Criers spamming. I've been at Lagtown bank today doing an experement. MANY people come asking for gates to check it out. Maybe people connected to that island player town need to get involved. [hint]
