I found a dagger this morning with the title "A Magic Dagger", and never having seen one of these before, was wondering exactly what this is, how old it is, where it came from, and it's value.

Does anyone happen to know?

I beleive was an old unidentified dagger from pre aos. When aos came around and showed us all mods it picked up the tag. Would need to see a picture and know how long you ahve had though to be 100% sure. Atm though I am 95% sure though.

Were you in the Effusion place?

I think there's a dagger that drops from there for a quest with the same name.

It is an old unidentified dagger. There are plenty of those type of weapons laying around in people's chests. You might get 20k on it but you should use an ID wand to see what the properties first.

The dagger from the Prism of Light dungeon is called Somebodys Dagger? Or Someone's Dagger and it's blessed. I carry one on each charactor, very handy.

I had a good size collection of these just because I liked the old-tagged items, but when I customized my house, they got thrown into the moving crate, and have since lost their tags. They're now just regular slayer weapons. I thought this was a fairly strange thing to have happen. I've x-sharded them in the past, logged out with them in my pack, etc. etc. and have never had any problems until now.

Sorry, I think that might be bad advice. At least up until very recently (and I have nothing I wish to test this on) if you used the item ID skill on "A Magic Whatever" the item would lose the "A Magic" part of its name permanently. The item probably already shows its properties anyway under the system we have now, and whatever those properties are is worthless compared to items that can be obtained now. The only thing giving that dagger any value is its "A Magic.. " name.

(Unless you specifically said to use an ID wand because it doesn't do what the ID skill does.. however I kind of doubt it treats them differently)

Aye, i have to agree with Tir, the "A Magic" part is what makes it rare, usually sells for around 500k or so, and if you ID them it will loose that attribute, DO NOT ID THE ITEM lol, its properties are already listed, IDing it will only make it say "Dagger" =/ thats all it will do, right now you can prolly pull around 500k for it, if you ID it, it'll just be junk worth however much a blacksmith will buy it from you for

Sorry it took so long to get this pic up. I'd completely forgotten about the dagger and the thread.

Anyway, here's the dagger:

Yep, it's an old pre-AOS un-ID'd Slayer weapon. When it's ID'd it loses it's "A Magic..." part, so as a few peeps have said, don't ID it or it'll no longer be rare.

As for value, I like many others have a few of these weapons stored away, so don't really put much value on them (maybe 100k or there abouts). But for a collector who doesn't have any, you may get a bit more.

As the saying goes, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it...
