A Hack to access High Seas Boats ??

Now, this is NOT funny AT ALL.

I just recalled to my ship to refresh it as I do every other day when I cannot fish, and I found it moved and all of my fish deeds, LOTS of fish weeks and weeks of fishing MANUALLY, NOT SCRIPTING, gone for good.

I had like 700 of each fish in deeds, now all gone.

I am the only one to have access to my account, bank box and house are fine and the ship was set to owner only (MAX secure setting).

How could anyone not only get on board, but move it and take away MY stuff which cost me so much stuff to put together ??

This sucks, sometimes I really HATE this game or, I should say, all the CHEATING that goes in it without much done to stop it.

What should I do now ? WHO is going to give my hours, my weeks one after the other spent fishing back ?? Should I start scripting which I HATE with all myself to make things even and get all my stock of fish back ??

All I know is that my hours, my weeks spent fishing to build up my fish stock are gone thanking to a damn cheater. And Gamemasters will just tell me that the policy of the game is to not replace lost items. What about then my lost TIME ?

Where is the fish stock product of spending my time to fish it up ? DAMMIT.

If someone knows about this hack please at least let me know how I can protect about it. Thanks.

Must have been a cheater, because there's no way simple human error can be the cause of this.

Popps, I know you're perfect and all, but don't go jumping off the deep end spouting off about a new boat hack and causing mass hysteria. It's quite possible you unsecured a hatch or something. Cheaters are not the only reason bad things happen. Sheesh.

Have you checked the settings of the security of the ship? If it set to anyone then anyone can get on board and take everything out.

Well, I had Party and Guild set to DENY ACCESS and the Public was set to OFFICER and my character selected as CAPTAIN to have exclusive access as officer to that ship.

I even tried the setting with other characters and, if they had not been named an officer, they could NOT access the ship.

Only the character set as Officer could access the ship. So I felt as safe.

I tried, tested other characters not given access as officers and so felt safe.

Now I lost all my stock of fish. If this is not a hack what is it ?

You don't know for sure that it IS a hack. All I'm saying is don't be the poster who cried hack. There are numerous other explanations. Perhaps it's a bug. Perhaps it was user error. Perhaps it was a server glitch.

Now what ?

Might want to start fishing if you want to replenish your stock.

And there is your problem... You had it set so that anyone (not guilded or allied) could get on the boat, move the boat, fire the cannons, and access the hold.

To prevent this - the public access needs to be set to Deny.

As I said, Party and Guild set on DENY ACCESS while Public Access set on OFFICER and MY character set as Captain and given exclusive access by clicking on it with the ship owner (only one who can grant access....).

Party is set to NEVER and noone else has access to my account but me. House and bank boxes are fine so this is not an account hack.

There must be some hack that works around the OFFICER settings to get access.

I did check the List and only my 3 characters which I granted access as Captains are listed, noone else is.

If this is not a hack I really would like to know how they got on board and looted me.

I just checked with my other characters NOT listed as officers and NOT in the list as having been granted access and they cannot board.

If they cannot board, but clearly someone else did AND looted me clean, how can this not be a hack ??

Besides, I tried the DENY access but doing so my other characters, even when I grant them access cannot board and use the ship which I need.

It was my understanding that OFFICER meant characters I SELECTED to have exclusive access to my ship, NOT EVERYONE.

The setting for everyone is public, NOT officer, that I know of.

Officer is someone I choose, that I pick, not everyone.

The owner of the ship selects the Officers to have access to the ship so, this is a security level limited to those characters I choose, not everyone out there.

What I would do is go to the menu on your tillerman and use it to set all access levels to deny. That will secure the ship. Then while standing on your ship, right click on characters on the shore to give specific individuals the access level that you want them to have.

The menu on the tillerman is for "everyone out there". The menu on a specific character is for that character only.

The issue has been explained, I hope we all learned something here today.
