A General Chat Suggestion (A Conversation, if you will...)

I applaud the devs for making Trial Accts limited to the "Help Channel" and was thinking today about what General Chat has become...

What does everyone think about this suggestion?

Is it possible to code the General Chat where it is "location based" like on smart phones that know where you are?

If so, then if you are in FEL YEW and you are double whopper with cheese talking all the people that you just took out... or you are on the other end of the stick, you know..."nice Haxxors noob!" "that's the only reason you got me!".... etc etc...
Then your general chat will only show up to the people that are IN FEL!

But, say you want to buy something and you want to reach the masses in Luna or Tram then you simply GO TO Luna or Tram somewhere and spam your message....

I see VERY VERY few people using any other channel besides General unless they are at an event and the EM has made a channel...

Just a thought.

What, you mean like the chat system we've had since before general chat was implemented? (granted the "local" area is only a few screens)

Just type ! and a space before your chat to yell it

must be just your shard, LS is normally pretty quiet, simple short stuff like Hey (insert name here), you on? sometimes a question like you might see here on a Forum. very light buy/sell action. I used to make sure it was off, i barely notice it any more.

Just seems like a never ending PVP chatter in General Chat...

Yes, some by my own guild, and I certainly don't want the "jawing" to end... but after awhile, if you want to find someone, sale something, or buy something.. you have to keep your journal up just to wade thru the mess....

Anyway, I guess this isn't a good idea afterall...
