I found this thread to be quite enlightening on many levels, humorous in others. My kids are way past young adults and are now providing us with those blessed creatures called "grandchildren". However, my daughter has an 8-year-old who loves to play games.
Lady Elizabeth, I loved what your family has done and actually copy/pasted what you posted and sent it to my daughter. It's hard to know where to begin with parenting as it pertains to gaming in 2012. I certainly have no idea. But if I was a parent into today's day and age, I would consider something very similar to what your family has done.
I think this is a relavant topic and definitely worthy of evaluation. And I loved it that Poos daughters were having a blast yelling at one another across the hall. I got such a chuckle from that image. And of course it brought back memories of me and my (ex) RL husband yelling at one another from separate rooms as we adventured together trying to figure this world out. And the day he presented me with what I thought was a box of jewels that turned out to be a bomb, and he laughed his a** off over my corpse - man did he have to grovel when I refused to talk to him for a while.
Thanks for the information, memories and things to ponder!
