I enjoy PvP, but don't do it regularly. Initially it was due to lack of gear to be competitive. Before AoS, I had a lot of fun running around with my kryss in junky armor. Post AoS, I just didn't want to put up the gold for something and risk it being lost due to the insurance bug or some rumored nefarious hack.

After quite a bit of friendly PvP among guildmates and warring guilds, I've decided I do I do like green eggs and ham. The problem now is that, now, I play on a netbook with a track pad or on a tablet, I'm just not fast enough in both the client response and my reflexes. I am also fairly immobile with the trackpad, which is fine in PvM, but not PvP.

So I'll venture out to Yew gate or Barracoon from time to time, fully expecting to die a quick death. Thankfully it seems that I get what I am looking for without a whole lot of griefing most days. I'll even work a couple levels of spawn if things seem kinda slow, never fails to trigger an overwhelming response.

I am the perpetual doormat in my guild's Friday night fights, losing to every opponent in not so spectacular fashion. Though one night I used a different computer and the EC client. And guess what? I won the whole darn thing. From that point I was hooked on this post AoS item centric combat thing. All my templates have turned out to be PvP centric ever since. I still am a terrible horder of death robes, but I don't care any more.

Yes, I am a trammie, but don't think it is because I don't want or cannot comprehend PvP.

You know what? I'll go further in this long rambling screed.

As a member of the thieves guild I am freely lootable in trammel and have been for over 5 years now. All this crap talk about how I am afraid to venture into fel because I might get looted is absolute bubkis. I've been dry looted at brit bank in trammel and lost a fairly nice hci shield I had just placed in my pack; killed by a giant turkey, looted by a player. I no longer have stealing, even on a soulstone, but was pleasantly surprised I could remain in this shadowy brotherhood.

Willard Wonker is a lifelong member of the thieves guild. When you see my stinking corpse in Shame, go ahead pick through my rotting entrails you might find something worth taking. Yes, even in trammel.

Or you might sell you soul desecrating a corpse and only have a stinky finger to show for it.

Edit: What's the point of cursed artifacts if you can't be looted?

i haven't pvped since 2003, but when i pvped i did so excessively.

even with all the 'haters gonna hate'ing and such, back then the general rule among pvpers was:

are you pvping actively? if so, you're cool. even if you suck and get made fun of. pvping badly is > not pvping at all.

as for your point... uhh. you can only not be looted in trammel rulesets right? do monsters still loot in trammel? if they don't, and you aren't in some situation where your corpse is consented ie. party or guildwar, then i'm not sure honestly why you'd care about cursed items being cursed=p

No, since I am in the thieves guild, I think I am what used to be called perma-gray. I can be freely looted, or at least I could be a year ago, regardless of facet. I think player thieves can steal from me in trammel, also. Not 100% sure on that last point.

Many people will never give PvP a shot in this game due to many years of very bad experiences. I don't think that's going to change.

Someone who is a victim of domestic abuse probably isn't gonna wanna take up boxing as a hobby, no matter how fun others make it sound.

/EDIT
Granted, PvP with blessed items and so forth has totally taken any kind of sting out of death. But PKs abused the player base at large so much that many player prefer a game where another player can't force a combat on them, often a totally ludicrously unbalanced combat at that.

used to love the days where you could loot players in trammel after their corpses turned to bones.
