About a week ago, it seemed like I noticed this section of darker tiles for the first time. Are they relatively new or have they been there all along and I have just not been paying attention?

In any case, it seems to me that these tiles would be an ideal marker for an EM to use to place a Nexus machine and I can't help wondering if that might happen in the near future, perhaps this weekend. I've seen here on Stratics a few shard reporter news bulletins mentioning EM announcements of a mystery event for this coming weekend.

Just some idle curiosity....

Hopefully the Nexus thingy would cover up that odd tile on Siege, it always bugs me (for some petty reason) everytime I see it heh.
