2d Question????

I read this post about 2D and 2D enhanced are there 2 different 2D versions or is the 9th aniversary version of 2d patched the enhanced Graphics...Thank You...

there is one 2d or legacy client then there is the 2d enhanced wich came at about the same time SA came out (about month or so before) and its still considered beta i believe !

When i was in beta testing and downloaded both SA and 2D Version....(the 2D version that was down loaded only alowed you to enter the SA shard at the time Nothing else)would that had been the enhanced version and if so you can't patch that one any more and it won't let you play. I just want to see the difference between the 2d or legacy and the 2D enhanced client to see which one i want to use...(if there is a enhanced one that is)

Thats what i thought that the enhanced 2D version there refering to was the one downloaded during beta...

The enhanced client was not the 2d one. It was the SA client that is now called the SA client I guess.

There was a special 2D client for the SA open Beta.

The 2D client is now called the classic client. It upgraded for all of us when SA came out.

There are 3 clients.

The SA Client

The Classic Client (2d)

Kingdom reborn client

There are no others.

Kingdom Reborn client went bye-bye when SA went live, that client is no longer supported.

So you have SA client or also called "enhanced" client

and the 2D client or also called "classic" client.

I didn`t download anything 2d related. It patched up and I can go/do everything that is allowed in 2d/SA. I did download the Enhanced client but didn`t see the need to delete my 2d client just to download another 2d client.

yeah ... get rid of that. Your patched 2D is the replacement for it. Beta SA Classic (and KR) are gone buh-bye.

There are only 2 clients now. Classic and Enhanced.


Because the 3D client is defunct, there is no need to call the legacy client "2D client" anymore. The legacy 2D client is now just called the "classic client"


Parts of the KR client was reworked into the SA client. To avoid confusion and/or negative impact of the SA client (the client is still considered to be in its beta stage) being linked to the launch of SA, it was renamed to "Enhanced client".


The tech forum has a sticky with links to both clients. Direct ftp from EA iirc. Much faster than file planet.
