2D playscreen size

I have been playing the EC but really miss the 2d client. I am playing on a 17" widescreen laptop and the actual playscreen only takes up maybe a little over 1/4 of the actual screen leaving the rest all black space. I tried adjusting the ingame graphic options as well as adjusting the actual computer screen display size which just made the game more like a letter box movie. The computer has an AMD M880G with ATI mobility Radeon HD 4200. Any suggestions? I can post a screen shot if needed. Thanks!!

The Classic Client only supports up to 800X600 in windowed mode and 1024X768 in full screen mode. There is no way to make it higher in the Classic Client.

So there is no way to make the playscreen larger? This is what mine looks like and I cannot even see enough area to place an 18x18 when in 2d client. Most of the screen is empty black space.

Yep - that is all you get with the 2d (Classic Client). That is one reason to stick with the Enhanced Client.

There are options you can turn on that will make the EC look and feel more like the CC and that may be enough for your tastes.

I have been playing the EC for the past 5 months but miss the little things like UO Assist and other little programs that don't work with the EC. I know EA has done a decent job trying to incorporate some of those things into the EC but they don't work as well or aren't as convenient.

I will probably continue with the EC due to lack of choice but I miss the 2D client.

If I remember correctly there's a program floating around which allows you to increase the window size to 1024x768, any more and the tiles start to just appear black. Unfortunately I can't remember the name, I don't think it was officially supported either.

Hopefully someone can chipe in and tell you what it's called.

Do what I do ... and I have a 19" widescreen monitor:
1. Change screen resolution to 1024x768.
2. Confirm resolution change if needed.
3. Start up UO CC.
4. Login, select shard and character.
5. Play.

This is the only solution available for the CC at the moment.
