well it is done.

i started my character on seige on / about may 18th. and last saturday i officially topped him off, working his stats to 255 and his skills to 710 (i'm a 2 year vet).

i have to say that this process was hardly the time consuming bear that everyone seems to make it out to be.

during my time spent here i gained more of an appreciation for this great game. I learned much more about the landscape of sosaria, having to move on foot in the early part of the training being not having high enough magery to gate.

i also found some nice obscure out of the way places to hunt, places that were probably pretty active in days gone by but are totally barren of life now.

definately, i'll say things are more challenging here.

for one you really cannot run a buff suit to the same degree of what you can on the prodo shards, factions not withstanding but that's o.k.

in the few fights i've been in (i'm a tamer so i really don't pvp with him) i find it to be a bit more balanced than the prodo shard i play on.

a few of the highlights:

killed a guy by trinsic gate who flagged on me the first 36 hours i was on the shard. put 5 brown bears on him. this would never happen on a prodo shard.

met shalimar of new who was a huge help and is a real asset to this shard.

killed the guy who looted the guild house the nite of the looting in front of wbb. looted and cut up his armor.

joined GIL, who are mature laid back people.

keyed several peerless. got two gold hair dyes and a crimmy.

won the crimmy on the subsequent roll.

tamed a killer dragon on shard up. 950 hp with big magery and near perfect resists.

got a mempo at shadow lords.

got killed afk, which taught me a lesson about how to act here.

LUNA bank is deserted...

just the fact that you have to move cautiously and watch your back gives a whole different sense to the game.

low's

got killed by que while in new and training.

got dry looted in tokuno by SP i think.

i don't even know if those are lows though.

all in all it has been a good time which is the overall point of playing.

For the life of me I don't know why more people don't play here.

Broadway Joe.

For a non-faction mage buff suit... invest in these two pieces of equipment.

Fey Leggings (Human type from Lady Mel, unless you plan on forever being an elf)
Event Spellbook (blessed) 0/2 casting as close to 10DCI and 5LMC as possible. (Should run you 500k to 1mil.)

Main pieces to the generic non-faction mage suit.
Aegis of Grace
Fey Legs (the item you siege bless)
Spellbook
1/2 ring and brace
rest is runic armor.

I run 65-70%DCI, Max SDI, 2/6 casting, 30-40%LMC, 5ish MR? corpse proof, 60-70all resists... the only thing I lack is protection proof and 100%LRC. I can easily fix the protection proof part, but am lazy because I've yet to die on the character as is...

For all practical reasons... the suit is for the most part prodo/faction level. Easy to replace and re-equip.

Yes. These are two of the major points I put forward when discussing Siege with others. RoT is a boon to those of us who do not have the time or the inclination to sit down for hours, nay - days long arsenumbing powerlevelling sessions. And Siege truly does make you find your way round Sosaria, so many players old and new on prodo shards are so reliant on recalling/sacred journeying around these days ( now that the magery level restrictions on recalling are long gone and paladin recall ability long introduced ) that they will magically zingzing back and forth the livelong day to various locations and not have a bloody clue where they are.

Yeah I'll give it to ya, you know all there is to know about twinkage cuz you're nothing but a twinkie...I can't wait til the devs fix this faction arty crap. Then we will see if you still consider yourself a top tier pvper. *chokes on own spit from laughter*

As much as it pains me to say this...but I would have to say Goodguy is a much better pvper than yourself any day.

You know, it's not like me to come to Draxous' aid like this, but...

Main pieces to the generic non-faction mage suit.
I bolded the part that you obviously couldn't read...

And why do you conclude that I couldn't read it? Of course if you know a topic or subject well you also know the opposition too. To be a good detective you must know the mind of a criminal. I'm just saying he's upon his twinkage knowledge.

My only problem with drax other than his delusional pvp skills is that he makes every attempt to try and even the battlefield, but he makes no attempts in fixing the core of the problem that causes the battlefield to need balancing in the first place.

Cheapsuit you are an idiot... I was running suits just like I do today way before faction item even came out. It will take a lot more than the removal of faction item from Siege to fix pvp...

You ran suit's that has tok majors/ crystaline rings/community collection glasses?community tialisman's, before faction artie's? which all let you only need 60 med and still have enough mana?or no good way of healing?(can we say gimp?) hmm i guess everyone was blind.

When we say suits "just like" we mean suits that had similar properties on them... ie. max SDI, 2/6casting, DCI, LMC, MR, etc.

Not that we were using the same item "types" that you find in factions.
