I was away for a while.
I hear about the book cases and I get excited so I come back to play and redecorate etc....
I am sorely disapointed about the ingredients that it takes to make our new craftable items. Did they believe that by making it hard to obtain it would be better? bah.

one more thing and i'm mostly just curious as to what other people think...
I am supportive of people as a whole having many different beliefs...however is it overstepping a line when in UO (especially in Luna) you hear broadcasts of people having a religious meeting or people using UO to "teach" their religious beliefs?
I know that sounds negative, but really is it that acceptable to go about a game "preaching" to others?

What would players think of someome emulating a Pagan or Satanic or even some kind of Scientologist Ritual/Meeting?

They use pack animals with communication crystals placed in houses in Luna...how do you ignore that when you need to buy something?
(i play on LA, small shard so most shopping is done in Luna, no way around it)

I'm not saying that they shouldnt be allowed to have a private meeting in a guild dedicated house, i was just wondering if that would bother anyone else, christian or not...

Decorating my homes is something I enjoy....in UO...I'm not afraid to admit that the new pixel crack got me to turn my accounts back on, thats what it was implemented for, right? For Players to Enjoy....

I was really looking forward to the bookcases, too!

But yeah, as for the religious thing... I'm Pagan and when I married my rl hubby ingame we had a handfasting, but other than that I don't really talk about my religion ingame. I think it's annoying when people do that, especially when they're speaking out against Pagans because, well... do you see what game we're playing?

Sometimes it reminds me of The Waterboy... when Kathy Bates says everything is the Devil...

I ran IT support for a radio station and the sports guys always had backgrounds and screensavers of semi-nude women. Management said "not appropriate in an office".

One of the employees was demonstrably religious to the extent that her office looked like a holy shrine. Management said "not appropriate in an office".

I'm not implying that religion is pornographic. Employers also think it's inappropriate when their employees play loud music or Minesweep, make personal long distance calls or run their personal business through the companies internet connection.

As an adult, I do not want you trying to convert me during our weekly poker or football game, while we're working out in the gym, while we're watching a movie or playing UO , while your cleaning my teeth or my carpet...not appropriate.

As a parent I do not want my children confronted with religious teachings while playing a video game...very not appropriate.

I really believe that if EA restricts profanity, racial/sexual-orientation slurs and advertising within UO, EA should also restrict religious advertising and proselytizing. It's just not appropriate in a video game.

in my OP i eliminated the word "guild" at the end because really there is nothing "offensive" about a group of people with similar beliefs/styles getting together and making a Guild.

What I did want to say was that I am relieved that I am not the only person who would have a problem with a group broadcasting their "religious" teachings in a game. They are not rude as far as I have seen, it was just uncomfortable and honestly, annoying to be playing a game and have religious testimonies spouted through out Luna.

In fairness I think they have stopped doing that so I dont mean to beat up on them or Beat a Dead Horse so to speak I am just saying that I'm glad I wasnt the only one feeling that way, I was begining to feel like a lone jerk...of course in UO that would be impossible.
