What primitive conditions many of you have been living in

I have had both a towel and a toilet for many years. The toilet was of course constructed but the towel (looks to be the same graphic) I got from an idoc and despite asking on the rares forum etc, have never been able to establish its origins.

I had one of these until it was stolen from me. I believe it came from a magic moment beach party. I been looking to replace the one stolen for years, but alas not many left around.

I'm guessing that the "marble bar" is their answer to people wanting to be able to craft just the center piece of a large table to make floating countertops with.

So instead of making it craftable and adding actual content to UO, its going to be an anniversary gift.

All stuff already in the game that aren't that great anyway.

Okay that's funny and all, but just because it has a "monogram" or has a name on it doesn't mean anyone used it before or not, lol. I've got a ton of towels that say Holiday Inn on them and such, can't really say if they were brand new or been through the wash several times. Granted I'm not familiar with "collector towels", but I got a feeling someone does collect towels lol. Now I think of it, I have "crying towels" from several sporting teams. I think we're expected to wave them around and such. But being from the Detroit area we consider them "crying towels" and we really need those here. Pretty sure no one used those before just because there's a name on them.

Now "monogrammed" toilet paper has potential. Toilet paper with the game designers names on them could be a major hit, lol. Kinda like a spin off of the heads on a spike thang.

Probably which greatly saddens me. I'm fairly well disgusted with the amount of crap added to the game as item junk instead of giving us the ability to actually make stuff. I don't need that. I want to CRAFT it... where I could then COLOR it... Not be stuck with someone elses idea of nice. Breadbowls, and all the other crap you get from doing the puzzleboard quest in the Underworld should have been CRAFTABLE. All the rubble benches that we got and such should have been CRAFTABLE. The unfinished dresser from both the turn in of the threads that gave rubble and fishing should have been craftable... Much of the stuff added to the clean up should have been craftable... I would love to be able to make those dressers and dye them or make them the color of the wood I used... now I'm stuck with stuff that I can't color.

I don't see why they can't give crafters a boost. When is the last time something legit got added to the crafting menues? 3 tiered cake? Only AFTER it was a gift item....

Imbuing + reforging singlehandedly destroyed artifacts, and monster loot. They also made crafters THE endgame way to get the best suits possible. Id say crafters have plenty in UO.

Not that I don't think holiday items should be turned into actual game content, quite the contrary.

Yea, nothing wrong with invalidating tons of content the game had all in the name of boosting crafters. Before the shame revamp, monster loot was made useless thanks to those crafting systems. EVERY monster of the game, completely invalidated.

Tons of bosses, completely turned useless because now their drops had no chance to compete with what you could easily craft.

Imbuing and reforging werent thought out enough, and were very short sighted systems.

Never said I don't have fun. But look at the content designed that way and you notice the same things - no one doing it.

At least in PvP you have bragging rights.

Maybe were getting near an actual publish since these are on TC now. My worries now are they spent so much time on this last publish you got Halloween around the corner. This has to be my favorite UO holiday and I hope it's not a rehash of previous stuff

But a rehash of the tally and spellbook might not be a bad thing. Can also run the cursed artifacts again that are imbueable. Then cruise into turkey day with the return of the harvester blade.

Well honestly we don't even know for sure what they all are yet, lol. Your getting a sword and a towel to wipe up the blood, sounds perfect I'm all about kicking the dev team when they warrant it *chuckles*. But lets find out what the gifts actually are first I like the sword and towel, let's see what else they have. The towel is a little off the wall, but I just watched The Hitchhiker's Guide again last night, the towel idea is growing on me

gathering generic items took all the thrill out of pvm. pvm had a couple very boring, desolate years when imbuing first came out. im glad it was fixed with shame loot and reforging or else i definitely would not still be playing.

Saying that monster loot was rewarding when imbuing first came out is like saying mining for coal is as fun as digging up a buried treasure chest.

So your rewarding PvM experience, is farming monsters for imbuing ingredients? Ingredients mind you, which have flooded the UO market.

So instead of every monster I kill having a chance to drop me a good item, it became certain monsters I kill in SA, drop me generic imbuing ingredients. Yea, awesome.

Such hard work for crafters too, having to spend literally minutes to get the ingredients they need.


(Meanwhile, as someone without a crafter you were completely boned and could never get anything as good as crafted goods. Yea, thats not good in an MMO. Thank god that was fixed with the Shame revamp and even moreso with the oncoming global loot changes)

I'll echo your PvM sentiment with my own crafter-based one. "So your rewarding crafting experience is making items, which cant even sell for the price of the ingredients. Yea, awesome.

I agree the shame revamp was good, and am really excited for the new changes to come... all I'm saying is there are many different ways people play and enjoy games, and to me, it makes sense for a company to throw a bone to each type of player for a while. MMO means massive multiplayer online.. not solely PvM/PvP. And I think UO touts itself as a sandbox more than any other genre, which in and of itself means it's not entirely focused on warriors.

Imbuing has been around for a bit now, crafters got to have their big boom, and now tides are changing again.

Either way, I'm excited to see what the oncoming anni gifts are C:
